The pics look to be compliments of photoshop, and the story sounds like another one of Winterhawk's BS jems. Seems to be a lot of them lately.

81XSProject, fishin' in your rose colored glasses again?

I thought so to until I read a members post that had a link to a CBS story about them.

My Son knows about them and he said it is legal to use a shotgun because of the danger they are posing.

Well, after the CBS video, I certainly would use a short barreled 12ga. with cylinder bore, and number 7 1/2 shot, probably 3 in hulls. As long as there isn't anyone within 150 yards, bang away!! What a blast. On the serious side, don't transplant any of these fish to any other waters, even a farm pond.

Shooting at flying fish would be SO much fun. Lowering the pesky population and getting "free" skeet targets. I would so do that!

                      81xsproject,

I've been reading about this for at least a year and a half. Do a search on "Asian Carp". There are pages of links to the subject. Take a look at the video clip I posted earlier.

They poisoned the river near Chicago last weak in an attempt at preventing them from entering Lake Michigan. Results: 1 dead carp!

I wonder how far they would fly out of the river if you tossed in some dynamite? The old Dupont fishing lure works every time.

Some experts I know including a Park Ranger are saying that the props scare them and they jump. They are not jumping to attack boaters and fisherman.

I'm not sure. It would be fun carrying a baseball bat and clobering them. We might creat a new sport but PETA would raise a stink. A shotgun would also work.

                                trbig,

Might be able to run them through a smoker. That and a 6-pack of cold beer makes a pretty fine afternoon.
Used to bowfish some clearwater lakes up in the foothills out here. They taste pretty darn good over a Hickory smoke. Yellow carp not the jumpers
