Hey everyone
Just wanted to say hi and (hopefully) generate some contacts for an XS11 story I'd like to do in a future issue of Moto Retro Illustrated, my new vintage magazine.
Not sure how many of you saw or heard about Motorcyclist Retro, the magazine I edited for a big publisher last year. We did three issues before the pub pulled the plug due to economic reasons (their own, not the magazine's). Each issue of Retro sold 20,000 plus last year, which is why I've taken my concept private and am publishing a very similar magazine called Moto Retro Illustrated.
To give you an idea of the sort of stuff we're covering, issue one features Eddie Lawson on the cover with his personal ELR. Basically we're covering streetbikes, dirtbikes and minis of the late 60s, 70s and early 80s. Other stories include Honda's CB750 on Route 66, Wes Cooley and his Yosh GS1000S Superbike, a piece on American Honda's 50th anniversary in the US, Yamaha's first monoshock motocrosser, a piece on Tom White's vintage motocross museum, a piece on Darryl Bassani, Hodaka's Super Rat, Jeff Ward and a lot more. Issue one is at the printer now, and I hope some of you will check it out.
I'm doing some research on the XS11, and figured I'd be able to make some solid contacts here re: tech and history.
Anyway, just wanted to touch base. Feel free to get me here or at my email: mcretro@cox.net.
Thanks!
Mitch
