My story is a little worse than that minus the rabies but I learned it is better to look clean cut and responsible to fool the authoritys and when they are not lookin do what you want !!

I'm 45 now and certainly could have been tagged a few times in my driving past. One thing I've learned over my past years is usually when I say or think, "Aaaah what the heck, I'm gonna do it..." That's when I got into trouble.

I hope the rabies treatment goes about as well as it can for you. My understanding is that the treatment 30 yrs ago was a whole lot more painful so there's your silver lining.

        Take care, stay safe,

          Ahh the memories!!

OK, rabies buys you a bit of sympathy, not much you could do about that one.

However, let me tell you this story. A "few" years ago (ok about twenty), after a full night at the local drinking establishment, a couple friends and I ALWAYS went to the chili joint across the road that stayed open just for the patrons of that establishment. Now, this particular night/morning we came in and htye refused to serve one of my friends claiming he ran out on his bill the last time he was there. Now, he has his faults like all of us, but he would not walk out of a restaurant without paying. So we refused to leave or for them to serve the rest of us until they would serve him, so they called the police and told us they were going to. After ten to fifteen minutes the police show up check all of ours IDs and then proceed to take my friend away on ...yep...Parking Ticket warrents! The idiot knew he had warrents, and still stayed there waiting for the cops to come! Yes, we tried to bail him out, but we did not have the funds required.

See any similarities? If you know they got paper on you, don't go attracting attention to yourself! Nope, no sympathy on that one. As to missing the get togethers, well, if they are a group you want to be a long term part of, they will just laugh at you...err...with you about it anyway.
Life is what happens while your planning everything else!

When your work speaks for itself, don't interrupt.

When I was 18 I got drunk and tried to out run the Phoenix police. It was big high speed chase through the city.It ended in a big wreck.I almost killed a man. That first night in jail was scary.I remember it like it was yesterday.
Then when I was sentenced to a year in jail it sucked but it was a huge learning experience.
I can tell you today I dont drink and drive, and I dont run from the police.

I hope you get well soon.I also hope you take your life a little more seriously in the future.
            Good luck.Rick

I sure as He!! not trying to relive any of my youthful and "grown-up" screw-ups. But I am damned glad I lived throught them.

kermit77 will too as long as he stays away from rabid bats and speed traps.

                      tw1980,
You must think you are the voice of reason.lol
But obviously if you think I'd like to relive my youth, you dont know me.
Sometimes acting responsibly is just not saying anything if you cant play nice.
I come to this forum to relax and share a little of my life with people and meet people with like interests. And to trade experiences back and forth on motorcycles and sometimes life in general.
I don't feel the need to try and deceive anyone into thinking I am fault free. And I have learned that no one else is either.
I used to take myself pretty serious too,but life is too short for that in my opinion.
                      Ride safe.

Well I tried my best to help with a little love here. But it seems that some misread it as feeling superiority or just nagging. If there is any one who feels that this young man should not follow my advise please speak up.Then when he or some other young person on the forum is doing 15 to 20 then we can pat or selves on the back for giving them a pass.I feel I am responsible for helping young people to the best of my ability any time I am given the opportunity.

TW, it dont matter how much advice you or anyone else gives to the young'uns, most of them will do it their own way. I have worked with troubled teens in a mentoring program. No matter what is said to them by people who have "been there & done that" some of them will continue to ONLY LEARN the HARD WAY, as sad and frustrating as that may be. Hopefully Kermit77 wil be one of those that learns the easy way. As for helping them. sometimes the best way to do that is to stand back and let them make a few mistakes that don't have drastic consequences. The lessons I remember the most clearly are the ones that hurt. I too was one of those who made it through my teens and twenties without getting caught, refusing to listen to older and wiser heads. Banging your head against a wall and geting uptight benefits no one except the makers of headache tablets.
