Highly Impressive
This is just another example of the character of the members of this forum. We find a member in need. We also find a member willing to donate time, gas and parts to that member. I hope to one day gain enough mechanical expertise (and parts) to do the same. To quote AC/DC, "For those about to rock, we salute you." Randy, you rock.79 XS1100 SF - name TBD - possibly "Divorce Maker" Kerker 4 into 1, K&N filter in stock air box

What....not even thinking about kommufornia???
Oh, come on.....don't you want to move to CA and help pay for illegals' healthcare and welfare???
And our politicians aren't as crooked as NJ.....they tell you how bad their going to screw you BEFORE they screw you. And the press loves them for it. That way they can get their camera's right in your face to catch the precise expression on your face as the screwing begins!!!

Ca CA land
You might want to ask The Whiz about that N. Carolina move. He did that a few months ago from Ca CA land. I actually like So Cal and can't imagine living in that hot humid places any more. Dry heat is much better and living close to the ocean is a major advantage too.... not to mention all the great mountain rides here....You can't stay young forever, but you can be immature for the rest of your life...

NC has Mtns and ocean front as well...but most importantly the economic climate is most healthy especially around the Raleigh-Durham area. The beaches are a couple hours away...and the Mtns of western NC and Eastern TN are abt 4 hours away.Deals Gaps...Tail of the Dragon.Chererola(sp?)skyway and many more mtn roads make this a very desirable place to be in.... Again though its the ecomonic climate...low taxes...relatively cheap real estate...and disposable income that isnt disposed of by the state before you can get it.You might want to ask The Whiz about that N. Tell me ...In Calif. how much does it cost to register your car or m/c? Last I heard it was about $500 a year
...and how can anyone live in a state thats bankrupt and in debt like Cally is?...I'd rather put up with the heat and humidity in NC
And I have spoken to the Wiz ...he loves it there and aint lookin back...

North Carolina would be great!
It really is beautiful country there...
As for the second bike deal... I'm kind of with the "Get another XS or XJ" but hold out for if and when they ever bring the XJR1300 over here...
I did find this one for you though...

As a native to the NC mountains, I love it here. There is no better place. We are living in Charlotte now. I have lived in Asheville and Boone, and I miss the mountains so very much. I am lookin forward to getting my seat for the XS so I can properly test it on the parkway and surrounding roads in Boone. As for Charlotte, you either love it or hate it. We love it here. 2 hrs from Boone, 2 Hrs to Asheville, 2 hrs from Raleigh, 2hrs from Uwharrie(great off-roading) and 4 hrs from Myrtle Beach.1979 XS 1100SF Serenity

Oh Yeah Max is a runner again!
Randy came by this a.m. and within 5 mins of troubleshooting found the problem in the TCI one of the thransistors had a cold solder joint...resoldered all of the transistors and bingo he fired right up...then we installed the YICS eliminator tool and resynched the carbs and readjusted the idle. This bike is running so smooth at idle it just purrs like a happy kitty Kat
Throttle response is very crisp and did I say how smooth it is? No low RPM stumble that it had previously. I just came back from blowing out the cobwebs and I couldn't be happier...ok mid life crisisis over...LOL
THANKYOU RANDY YOU ROCK!persona non grataComment
