I have (had?) a friend on the Left who for 8 years was all about how Bush stole the election, how he was appointed by the Supreme Court, and didn’t get the popular vote: all of which is demonstrably BS, or explainable.
After the last election I talked to him on the phone and asked him: “Well how do you like it that your guy won?”
“Well, I’m just happy that every vote was counted:” alluding to the “feeling” that every vote wasn’t counted in Florida, in spite of every study to the contrary.
“Well,” said I, “I’m sure that every vote was counted, and many of them more than once!”
“Good bye, Ed,” said he. And that was the last I have heard from him.
“Leftist” seem to be particularly illiberal when it comes to attacks on their particular ideology.

My recently re-built, hopped up '79 Special caught fire and burned everything from the top of the engine up: gas tank, wiring, seat, & melted my windshield all over the front of the bike. Just bought a 1980 Special that has been non oped for 9 years. My Skoot will rise from the ashes and be re named "The Phoenix!"

I had the opportunity to listen to Sean Hannity on the radio yesterday. As far as I can tell, he is well thought out and has some very brilliant ideas.

One of the callers asked how he puts up with all the bashing and half truths the other side stacks on.

He said, it simply doesn't bother him at all. He believes in his stance firmly enough that the attacks from the otherside are flatly ignored.

Personally, thats how I try to handle it, although, I must admit that I am not as good at it as he. Some times I still get worked up, have to shut down the computer for a while and give the wife a hug and kiss. At the end of the day, I know when I express my opinion anywhere, and I don't just mean online, I have thought it out thuroughly, and have come to the conclusion the evidence dictates. Wether it be Harley Fanboys or Democrat Neonazis, I have settled it in my head, and it will take some great logical debate to turn my thoughts. Most of the time when dealing with Democrats, they expect me to believe it because CNN told them that is the truth, or some conspiracy site said that is the way it is, and rarely ever have a good explaination as to why they believe the way they do. I even get the Witnesses and Mormons discombobulated when they try to convert me, since I have questioned my own beliefs enough that they could never toss a shred of doubt in my mind.

The fact is, if you aren't fully vested in your beliefs, to the point that any opposing viewpoint doesn't even phase you, you probably shouldn't shoot off your mouth. If you get caught off guard, then kindly excuse yourself, and come back when you are more prepared. If you get drunk and run over at the mouth, then well, be expecting to get cleaned. If your roomate got drunk and hacked your account, expect the same.

In short, if you can't regulate yourself in tense situations, stay away from them.

I like this - thought I would share it here!

New Direction For Any War: Send Service Vets Over 60!

I am over 60 and the Armed Forces thinks I'm too old to track down terrorists. You can't be older than 42 to join the military. They've got the whole thing ass-backwards. Instead of sending 18-year olds off to fight, they ought to take us old guys. You shouldn't be able to join a military unit until you're at least 35.

For starters: Researchers say 18-year-olds think about sex every 10 seconds. Old guys only think about sex a couple of times a day, leaving us more than 28,000 additional seconds per day to concentrate on the enemy.

Young guys haven't lived long enough to be cranky, and a cranky soldier is a dangerous soldier. 'My back hurts! I can't sleep, I'm tired and hungry' We are impatient and maybe letting us kill some ******* that desperately deserves it will make us feel better and shut us up for a while.

An 18-year-old doesn't even like to get up before 10 a.m. Old guys always get up early to pee so what the hell. Besides, like I said, 'I'm tired and can't sleep and since I'm already up, I may as well be up killing some fanatical s-of-a-b...'

If captured we couldn't spill the beans because we'd forget where we put them. In fact, name, rank, and serial number would be a real brainteaser.

Boot camp would be easier for old guys. We're used to getting screamed and yelled at and we're used to soft food. We've also developed an appreciation for guns. We've been using them for years as an excuse to get out of the house, away from the screaming and yelling.

They could lighten up on the obstacle course however. I've been in combat and didn't see a single 20-foot wall with rope hanging over the side, nor did I ever do any pushups after completing basic training.

Actually, the running part is kind of a waste of energy too. I've never seen anyone outrun a bullet.

An 18-year-old has the whole world ahead of him. He's still learning to shave, to start up a conversation with a pretty girl. He still hasn't figured out that a baseball cap has a brim to shade his eyes, not the back of his head.

These are all great reasons to keep our kids at home to learn a little more about life before sending them off into harm's way..

Let us old guys track down those dirty rotten coward terrorists... The last thing an enemy would want to see is a couple of million pissed off old farts with attitudes and automatic weapons who know that their best years are already behind them.

How about recruiting women over 50 ...with PMS !!! You think men have attitudes !!! Ohhhhhhhhhhhh my God!!!
If nothing else, put them on border patrol... they will have it secured the first night!

Share this with your senior friends. It's purposely in big type so they can read it.

                    I'm still ready to "RocknRoll"...

Hi BobE, long time no hear. On here anyway. I hope your doing better. I've been following your posts on the other clubs site. Maybe soon you will be back up and riding.

Sorry bout the frustrations in the Biker Bar. Lot's of Neo-cons ganging up on the few of us who aren't.

People seem to get so tripped up about Politics and bogus events we see on the 5 media outlets. I never get flustered as I know the real truths behind the things going on. Our biker brothers in Australia know these things also as many of them listen to Alex Jones at www.infowars.com for the uncensored news.

I would love to see a debate between Alex Jones (the worlds most listened to program) and Sean Hannity.

My XS1100 is running fine and so is the Harley Ultra. My Seca Turbo has a fuel leak so I have my work cut out for me.

People need to chill out when confronted with news that may scare them. We are living in scary times but this does not mean we can't enjoy our lives. My bikes, calgon and the PS3 will help ease all tensions.

This is one place I hope we will all end up in

Send the females in first, tell them there's a sale on, after they clear the way with their elbows and handbags the rest of us will be able to casually stroll along with only an occasional survivor to deal with

                            A special forum for politics?

I came in on this thread late. The flap over needing to put such discussions as this in a special forum I find amusing. I gathered from the thread title "Patriotism" that is wasn't about a Sunday ride or finding a short in a bikes wiring. It's not like I was suckered into reading it by some misleading heading.

I do think the emphasis should be on "civil discussion," however.
