So it was OK to bash President Bush but now that it is President Obama, it is unpatriotic to voice your opinion. That is now an attack? I don't usually reply to the political threads in this forum. But a political discussion is just that, a discussion. Just because someone has the opposite view on a law or policy that you do, does not make it an attack on the President or country. I also value our freedom of speech and have no problem with you voicing your opinion but now I am supposed to keep mine to myself?

I have no problem if someone wants to post anything they want in the members lounge. I can and sometimes will engage in a political and or religious discussion and can do it in an adult manner without resorting to foul language or personal attacks.

didn't I just read in the last thread where you were trashing pres Bush?I will support the president every time that I agree with his policies.I just can't find many policies the president and I can agree on right now.This is the section for civil toned off topic.No one has to post to or read this section if they don't want to.That's one of the benefits of living in a free country.Thank you for your service and sacrifice.Terry

As my grandchildren would say, What Ever!

I still stand by what I believe and have requested. There have been several of my family who have died believing in America and I would have done the same. I honor all those who have descent as it is the American spirit. Much of late appears to be no more then caricature assassination or less in it's attacks of our current president. More so then I have seen in my lifetime, and there have been those in question since Eisenhower. Note there has been commentary in this regard by public figures, that have been new worthy.

Straight forward, is your concern that a colored man is now in office? Be careful now as this is a real problem for America who believes all men are created equal!

I'll not be called a racist because I believe Obama is The Worst President Ever.

Has nothing whatsoever to do with the color of his skin. I'll go with MLK there and judge the man by the content of his character, which I find to be sorely lacking.

Been a member forever - so don't go there! I have the same concerns. I am an unemployed Manufacturing manager and would like to see America get back to work! This don't mean Chech or Chinese guns nor Koran cars!

So now it is being insinuated that because I do not agree with the President's policies that I am a racist. I will refrain from returning the personal attack but that just pisses me off. This really seems to only be a problem with the democrats as they are the one who keep bringing it up everytime someone disagrees with President Obama. Oh well, they are just racist. Go figure.

I also have spent time in uniform as many others here have.

Typical liberals,,,,they trash the Republicans and the Conservatives, and then scream racism, or prejudice when others have an opinion against the liberal Democrats. Obama is the worst ever,,,,and whats its been, a few months? I thought the White Guy, Jimmy Carter was the worst in my 50 plus years of life, followed by Gerald Ford, but even they were more qualified to be President than Barrack Obama. Yes, he was voted in, but many did not vote for him. SO, to those who cannot stand adverse opinions on the Liberal President, just wait.........we will get change alright. Is the economy rebounding yet after trillions of dollars spent, no....do we want government controlling healthcare, no,,,,are we getting taxed out the yingyang, yes......what positive change has Barrack provided? Many of the conservative and non-Demoncrats are waiting for those results........we need a revolution. Lets put Hussein Obama and Shrillery on a couple of XS 1100's and duct tape the throttles wide open....

The best solution if some people would bother to do it is to take your political axes (of whatever stripe) to a political forum and let this be what it is... a motorcycle forum. It's a damn good bike forum; let's keep it as that.

But somebody always has to stir the pot with some more-often-than-not-untrue or distorted crap, and awaay we go....

Please notice that I did NOT mention any particular party, affiliation, race, or creed. This goes for all of you.

Now, if you want to get in a pissing match over Harley bashing or how ugly your XS is, let's go.

I'm tired of opening threads with titles like "patriotism" or "history unfolding" only to find character assassination and unfounded malicious rumor of political nature being spread here.

Yes, I've read and posted here, yes there is free speech...and I can't help myself sometimes...it's like passing a car crash, and rubbernecking...

But it's getting more and more nasty and personal...so why do it here...if you're a right wing red neck..go to a left wing forum and have a fight worth having...if you're a left wing commie liberal go to a right wing forum and flame away...but why here? This is a bike forum, we all supposedly have a commom interest..but I'd hate to go on a ride with some of you guys if we ever stopped to have a friendly conversation, (unless you're only this way in print...)

Why can't ths place be a place to go for friendly conversation among people who share a love of the open road and motorcycles...?

Maybe to moderators can start a new forum titled "demolition derby, a place for political discussion"...

As I stated at the beginning - this is about XS1100...

I don't care about politics - I don't care about individuals or their assassination. I am concerned about events - put any group name or individual name you wish upon them. My concern is about the principals and morals I was raised with in being an American. Now, if you please, let this be done somewhere else, again PLEASE!

Can we get back to the great Bikes we all agree upon, and put our political crap some where else! I know I am not the only one offended here and I know there are more then two feelings of thought here - ya I acknowledge some of you don't agree with me and I respect that!

So can we do something else here, ya know - Bikes, Camping, Shooting Sports, Beer Drinking... I think ya know where I am going here!

I started this post as I am tired of hearing this crap. I would hope we can be better then this!

There's no problem with political discussions... but frankly... the maturity level of our members (myself included) tends to lessen as these debates (and I use that term VERY loosely) carry on... and some of the mods get tired of babysitting.

If you can't play nicely, kids... you're going to have to stand in time out...
