    lol

I didn't see that "stouter" part at first...
Left me thinking... all that work and he only gets 3 horsepower?
    but it looks good...

I should be getting things organized in the next couple of weeks and see exactly where I stand on the pics... I haven't done a great job of keeping my stuff together this time around...
    ahem...

I should be able to post who is where in which calendar by the end of August... or September... October at the latest... but maybe November...

I found 3 more hp in addition to the 30% increase I already had. I had 95.58 hp and I now have 98 hp. If you recall, I posted the graphs of the first test where it made 95.58 but I didn't the ones where it made 98. The additional 3 hp was obtained from altering the the center line setting on the intake cam from what it had been initially and using a Dyno-Jet kit. At this stage in the game 3 horsepower is hard to find but I've got a couple things left that will put me over the century mark while still maintaining good low end torque and the use of the original carburetors, air box and only 1179 cc's. Of course a big [B]Ross motor with bigger cam's, carburetors and more compression will make a lot more power but 95 to a 100 isn't bad for a 1179.

Actually there is no end to this horsepower thing but the outward appearance of the motorcycle doesn't really change, only the engines ability to generate more force. Next year I will have more power than I have now as Attila is simply a work in progress.

Good luck on your calendar and thanks.

            Potential?

            Hi guys/gals,
I was wondering if anyone thought my Dad's bike has the potential to make it in the calender. Its all stock/origional and is in need of a good bath, but with all that and a good camera Im sure I could get some good pics. Here's one with my phone... Thanks!

I don't see a problem with that at all...

I'm doing 3 different calendars... eventually...
              lol

It should fit in at least one of the categories... and if it doesn't... I can make 4 calendars...

                Hey Kat-
Although the calendar was my Idea, because I really don't have the time to deal with it, I am totally stoked that you have run with it and are doing a fantastic job! Kudos! I hope to meet you and John one of these days.
Bye the bye, I hear that you Texans are experiencing over 6 straight weeks of 3 digit temperatures! Dayam! I love Texans, but I'm allergic to Texas. Whenever I go home to visit I am overcome with allergies, and I really can't handle temperatures over 100 degrease. Just goes to show ya the wimpification of Californification!

Old bikers never die, they're just out of sight!

My recently re-built, hopped up '79 Special caught fire and burned everything from the top of the engine up: gas tank, wiring, seat, & melted my windshield all over the front of the bike. Just bought a 1980 Special that has been non oped for 9 years. My Skoot will rise from the ashes and be re named "The Phoenix!"
                I've been riding since 1959.

Is there still a chance to submit some pics? You could use some of the pics of my bike that I posted here on the forum. I tried to link them to this thread but I guess it doesn't work doing that. I could email the original files of the pics to you but they would be 3 to 5 megapixels for each pic I think. Let me know if it's not to late.

Here's my submission for the calendar! I don't know what calendar it would best fit into, but I took this in front of the Eads Bridge in St. Louis this afternoon. It's a rather historical structure, and was the longest arch bridge in the world when it was built in 1874. Here's a link to more info about it if you're interested. I like the picture though. I had hoped to get one with the Arch in the background, but the only possible photo spot where I could have gotten my bike, the Old Courthouse, and the Arch had a cage parked in the spot! So, I settled for this:

And just for kicks, here's a picture of the bridge by itself:

                            Very nice composition!

Just a tip for getting a really nice shot: back lighting is a constant problem. Use some sort of reflective material, a white poster board or something to reflect light back onto your bike. I'm still trying to work out something that I can pack on my bike. Combining photography and riding is a challenge in more ways than one!
