  • End of school year brag-a-thon

Okay... so I'm a Mom... and a proud one...

    Our son received this today:

and has just finished taking the 7th grade final exam to place him in 7th grade Pre-AP math next year... 8th grade level math when he is in 6th grade...
    (he speaks math fluently)

He's made straight As throughout school (obviously getting his intelligence from John)

I know there are other proud parents out there so please feel free to jump on this post and boast...

We never had AP anything in elementary school. Just "Math". High School introduced us to words like Algebra, Geometry, Trig, Calculus, and such. That's pretty cool for your kid! Especially the straight A's. That's something to be proud of right there!

Congratulations, Kat, I know how that feels. Although my 11 y/o did not recieve the Pres Award, don't know if they even do it here, he progressed from elementary school with straight "A"s. He is also a math and science lover, wants to be a marine biologist, doing mainly field work. This boy would rather fish than eat. And he catches fish, big time.
Kudos to Chase!!! (Nice name, BTW)

Congrats Kat, I just got my fourth of five through high school, it was a challenge to say the least. the truly frustrating thing is that the boy's got some smarts, just doesn't care. he's been mailing it in for the last seven months. he's got the next four years of his life planned out already ( or perhaps it will be planned for him). he graduated from the local vocational school with a cert. in computer information systems. He could get a fair job right now as it stands, but he has signed his name on the dotted line and elected to spend the next four years in the service of our country in the United Stated Marine Corps. He leaves for Boot camp on the twentieth of July, likely graduates from Boot in late October and will finish his MOS training in March or so of next year. He's chosen Data Systems as his MOS, scored in the 90's on his ASVAB last fall. he's pumped, we're proud, it's all good. Congrats again Kat, you should be very proud. have a nice day and ride safe

Kat, that's awesome that your son is doing so well in school. It's sure makes a parent proud, huh?

Thought I'd do some bragging myself. My son, Donnie just was awarded the Achievement Medal for saving the life of a fellow Marine last year. It happened here in the U.S., not overseas.

That's Donnie in the middle, currently a Corporal who works on Amphibious Assault Vehicles. My son Kevin is on the left, he's about to turn 15.

Congrats to your son Kat, tell him I said, "Good work!".
