        I posted this same link when the 'What Kind Of Helmet Do You Wear' thread was going on, but it got kind of buried in the middle of the thread and not many people noticed it.
        Sorry crazy steve, I guess I was one of those that missed it.

            Eric Medlen's 'crash' consisted of idling downtrack after he lost conciousness and eventually scraping up against the guardrail; the majority of car damage was due to the tire.

            And yes, his brain got 'rattled' and subjected to extreme g-forces. But unless I completely mis-read that article, isn't that one of the main functions of a helmet? To help reduce those g-forces? That's something the Snell helmets appear to be particularly poor at doing. Would a DOT-only helmet have saved Medlen's life? Probably not, but it may have improved his chances....

              I guess I was mistaken on this previous post... Turns out, the state Senate passed it, but on 7/2/09, the Governor vetoed the repeal, keeping the mandatory helmet law intact in MO.
