        Tool for removing float pivot pins. Works on the principle of a chain breaker:

              Ken I believe that your little tool will be the most common copied on this forum, that has almost got to be THE tool for any XS owner!!
              and even small enuff to be kept in the tool kit!

                  Well, DXF files can only be opened with Autocad. Can you print it to a PDF file (using a pdf writer like CutePDF) or use the MS Document Image Writer printer and make a .tif file, and post it here? I agree - that tool is incredible! It's simple, yet solves a problem that the folks around here have a HUGE problem with. I'm suprised I've never seen that one before!

                    An easier way for folks to work on this would be to browse through the long thread that traces the development of the concept and the extensive collaboration that went into it. You can jump to the part with the critical dimensions at about the end of page five here.

                    Be sure to go back to the start of the thread to get a good flavour of all the work that went into it, and how MRO actually made the major breakthrough

                        Actually, now that I've read that thread, I think the slotted option might be the better way to go. It would be easier to produce, and you would be able to handle both versions of posts. Too bad Guy's picture is gone...

                          Thanks KEN

                          I built one of your carb float pin pushers a couple of years ago after seeing yours. I chucked my threaded pusher in a drill press and with a file, ground the tip smaller, about the size of the pin. I found a old plastic knob in one of my junk drawers( what? you only have ONE junk drawer? shame on you!) and epoxied it on the end to make it turn easier.

                              Does this count...??

                              Not quite a tool but it's what I've been building lately.



                              Ran it for the first time yesterday. Got 4 litres of clean spirit at 87%.

                              Got lots of homemade tools as well. Will take some pics and post.
                              1980 SG. (Sold - waiting on replacement)
                              2000 XJR1300. The Real modern XS11. Others are just pretenders.
