my morgan carbtune arrived in the mail today I took advantage of the conversion rate 1.49/pound and got it for 82 bucks and it arrived in 9 days not bad for across the atlantic and a whole continent!! look out carbs here I come!
How long did it take to come. I just ordered mine last night, so I am excitedly waiting. 93 GBP = 165 Canuck bucks these days but that was with the colortune and toolpouch combination. Still pretty good for an exchange rate and the shipping included for that price. It will be far cheaper for me to learn how than to keep paying someone else to do them for me too.

Couple of more parts bikes of which 2 more will live!
WOW ... if those prices your paying are for one unit things have changed. I got 4 kits for 235.98 Canadian which included the surprise 35.98 fee at the door. That was 2 years ago if I am not mistaken. My units came out of the USA from auto experts products on e-bay.

I bought one from the company last year.It cost me about $100.It took 8 or 9 days. From overseas I thought that was impressive, since half the time it takes that long or longer if you buy something on line here in the states.
And I love that tool.It works great and is easy to store.
79XS11F. Here is a link to the kit I bought. If you click on the pictures on the page they will show you larger and more detailed pics. Last time I looked they were about 245 Canuck bucks so the exchange rate has helped a lot.

Wildkat bought me one after seeing 'Busa Dave tune a bunch of carbs here a couple of years ago. We both use it and it is wonderful! She also bought me a Colortune, but in my experience, it sucks. I don't know if every bike I used it on had a weak ignition system or not, but it would misfire so much that the bike ran like crap. I even set the gap on the electrode to about .35-.40, but it was worse. It worked fine at higher RPM, but it failed miserably at idle. Anybody that has one have any tips for it's use? Right now, it's nothing more that a novelty that allows you to see the fire of an internal combustion engine.

I think hat's a "kit" that includes the sync tool. I didn't buy the kit because I already had 4 good gages. I got 4 colortune spark plug kits for the 235.98.

Hey John my units work great at all ranges but I do have NOS coils on the bike. Perhaps weak spark is why it did not work well for you. For me I would not even try to tune carbs without them. More so if the system has been modified with headers or pod filters etc. Of course when its all said and done only a dino test can tell you how well your engine is running and that's not in the cards for me.
Rob
Every bike I've used it on did have stock ignition. Perhaps it was intended to be used on ignition system that have a more powerful spark that can jump the gap of the electrode on the Colortune. What is the center electrode gap on your Colortune?
Hey John. The ignition system is stock just new old stock parts including coils. I didn't check the gap on them? I just used them right out of the box. Next time I am in the garage I will check one of them and post.
Rob
I don't have any wire gauges so I can't get down inside it to check the gap. It is however, rather large. At least 1/32 of an inch, perhaps a little bigger.
I run all fore at the same time and the engine will idle and respond to throttle input without hesitation. Maybe the one you have is not working correctly.
