We have a fella that takes the cover off and then shaves the seat down to import the gel and they are fantastic and all my bikes are set up that way.

I sent 4 cushions out last week. I just checked at Walmart tonight, and if anyone is still interested in one of those seat cushions, Walmart had @ 7 or 8 of them in stock. I will be leaving Wed for almost a week, so it would be next week before I could send one. It ended up averaging @ $27 including shipping to send... even to Canada.. I just had to fill the forms out.

My local Walmart has these seat pads made by Stearns. Apparently not all of them have them though since the guys in Kansas have looked. They are actually made for a 4 wheeler. You don't sit on it and think "ahhhhhh". It's a really firm padding, but after 300 miles this last weekend, I felt like I still could have done a couple hundred more. I sent one to Ivan before our trip and he loves his. Now a couple other of the guys want me to bring them one at the Bob Jones rally next month. They are @ $18 at my local Walmart.

I think I'll be able to move it backwards so a passenger can use it also... you don't sit up on the front of the seat by the tank anyway. It's not a "Gel" seat... but thought I'd post a cheap option.

The buckles don't hold up real well, and they aren't worth a damn at protecting you in a rear end collision at 60 mph. The buckles are easily replaced by a few zipties under the seat, but I cant say what it would take to make them protect you if some jerk runs over you. I don't think thats in the design sheet anyhow.

Also, they hold moisture, so if you park your scoot out side and there is dew or rain, you'll become an unwilling member of "The Soggy Bottom Boys", which is ok, if you are good at singing "Man of Constant Sorrow".

I've been using them for a lot longer, but I have actually found the opposite of what Ivan said, though that was some funny stuff.. lol. The "foam" inside the cushion SHEDS water, not absorb, and find that only the cloth material that holds the padding gets wet, so you don't have that, "I just sat on a wet sponge" feeling. The padding is the same layered up material they use in the cheap orange life jackets/vests.

Also, my buckles have held up well. So much so, that the last pad I bought, I just re-used the old ones since I already had them the right length and strung under the seat. I guess YMMV...

The only down side I see, is that they bleach out from black to a brownish color pretty quick in the sun. That's the only reason I've replaced mine.
