    Slip cover would be the best idea....

    probably WTMI but a bare behind does not slide....I won't explain how I know this....Let's just say that I have a hard time turning down a dare!
    but I will add that you don't wanna go too fast, 60MPH was kinda chilly

            20 degrees, naw, besides the bike isn't quite ready yet!
            Also, I'm sorta' on the wagon, about 9 years now, well I'll drink a beer now and then, but only 1 or 2 and every couple of months

                                Ok we'll have nothing sticking,flapping or otherwise contacting the tank... So whatever pictures you're seeing are your own fantasies..LOL.There is no direction to this thread so it cant be hijacked...LOL...except by me OFC The whole thing about the '82 XJ1100 seat is that its way too low and shaped like you're sitting on a hill. With the textile pants its like sliding down a ski slope on your butt.

                                        Rubber spray?

                                        How about a very light dusting of that rubber spray that folks use on their cracked carb boots? I'm serious. I think just a light coat should provide enough tack and if it can survive the evironment of a gasoline engine, it should survive repeated washings. You would only have to do the small area that contacts the seat. You could always re-do it if it eventially wears off.

                                            I think I'd just sew a nice denim patch over the rear end of the pants. You could even get it in matching colors! Might even be worth finding a pair of new jeans and cut the matching rear end out and transplant it over the rear of the armored pants.

                                                Another intersting idea...

                                                After much consideration and some riding time I have come to the conclusion that the stock seat on the '82 XJ1100 is a POS for any serious long distance run.Its woefully too low and the shape of the seat,while it looks nice...is not very comfortable...looks like an aftermarket seat will be in the works after all
