I used to live in your neck of the woods, and knowing what I know (very little) I wouldn't run an oil cooler, unless you just want to impress the local kids with all the shiney stainless steel braided hoses. I would be more concerned with the brakes overheating, with all the mountianous roads (sigh), and the trip back down that big 6886 foot summit you have there near Gorham.
Last time we were in Gorham, we took a ride towards Berlin, and as we rounded a corner, what large, antlered animal do think we encountered, standing right in the middle of the friggin road? Had it been dark, we would have been sharing the front seat of the mini van with Bullwinkle, or we would have been taking a dip in the Androscoggin. (Anybody else here know what the Androscoggin is?)Comment

I would think that would depend on the person riding the bike.
Thanks Tod. I've often wondered about how the cooler got fed.

Why not just get the spin on filter adapter that is available through the site? I know I'm thinking really hard about it, I guess I should check to see if it will work with my oil cooler on my new (to me) engine when I install it. Now I just gotta go through it and make sure everything is good before I install it (and get a starter and clutch cover so I can get it fully together and all before installing it).Cy

I'm not trying to sway anyone else's opinion from the SOFA units sold here. These are just MY personal reasons for wanting the filter in a more protected area.

P.S> After posting that photo, I see it doesn't show up very well. I will show a better one later.Try your hardest to be the kind of person your dog thinks you are.
