  • Look at what i found

Ok so after it feels like months of being to busy for words with family stuff not having any time for anything this weekend I got off to just relaxe before i had a melt down. So what does a XJer do with some down time he looks on the net for stuff he needs and stuff he dosent need but sure would like to have and this is what i found.

1981 XS 1100 BAGGER all original right down to the owners manual

I bought this bike from the original owner in Quebec just south of Montreal. This is the closest thing i have seen to being original and ontouched the paint is great and it has 54000 km on it. I got there he took me into the shed and uncovered in put the key in and fired right up cant wait to ride it and will post pics after i clean it all up.

P.S. the only thing it need is the mufflers if anyone has a set PLEASE let me know

I'm not an expert on this, but it looks to me like you've got a frankenbike. That is not an '81 tank or seat and not '81 gauges. Unless, of course, this is a standard, and the standards had those, while the special had the teardrop tank with non-sunken fill-cap, and round gauges. I'm sure someone else will be able to clear thing up better than I.

Sorry to burst your bubble, but the speedometer is in KM, NOT MPH. That makes this a Canadian bike so it does NOT have the US mandate 85 MPH speedometer. It DOES look like a nice machine, and with only 54K, you should be able to put another 100K on it with very little repairs. You will probably have to put on after market slip on mufflers. I have those on the '79 I ride almost every day, but as they were on when I got the bike, I do NOT know the brand or source.

Whoa Jim...Great Find...this bike looks like Motoman's. A little rough but I'll bet it will clean up nice. So your garage must be getting crowded...

wow, so if the baggers are desireable did I do something stupid making mine naked? Because mine looked nearly identical to that when I got it. with only ~13000 miles on it.

                  Exhaust parts

i went to the international motorcycle show in minneapolis,mn, Dennis Kirk was giving out catalogs,There is a complete exhaust set listed for XS-11's . the price was around $335.00. I suppose gaskets are Xtra. Good luck the bike looks like a keeper.
riding bike in Minnesota is a love hate relationship, love to ride, hate the weather.

Geeez, it's even got the shroud around the instruments! You don't know how rare this part is. Even rarer -
I don't think I've ever seen one with the 'Trans Canada" decal on the fairing lowers!!!

Other that needing a bit of air in the rear tire, you've got a sweet ride there.

Looks like a 81 Venturer to me. The white panels on the gas tank indicate the 6 gal. (U.S.) tank. Super find!

That is what it is a 1981 Venture to compete with the goldwing it has the big tank (it is a tank LOL) only thing this bike needs is a RADIO and that is coming spent 6 hours today cleaning changing fluids and WOW better than i thought. Only thing it needs is the valves ajusted (Paul Rob ELDR would love your help with that) and a new front tire and the carb boots and the spedo drive gear. Here is a pic of it cleaned. P.S. this bike will be at the northern rally
