hello from Brisvagis - one bikes story

Very nice build. The coolest thing about your build is this....both of your paint schemes are exactly what I was thinking about. Now I know that the blue I was thinking of looks bitchen on these bikes, I think I'll be doing that. I was even planning on powdercoating the frame silver or possibly gun-metal grey.

BTW, what was the set-up for the 107HP dyno run posted on youtube on 07-19-09??

update.............

Ive done about 10k kms since this writeup - including a 3k km 3 day weekend and a track day - the bike isnt so pretty anymore - road grime, stone chips etc
but still goes just the same
That is my dyno run BTW - That was done at the Story Bridge Concours - a bike show presented by Club Laverda Qld - gr8 day

I was really chuffed by the dyno operator's remarks about it being impressive - he must see a lot of more impressive machines than a 29 year old Yammie i reckon.

Hi Bryan,
that's a labour of love and a great double rebuild.
Now I've lent my bike out a time or two but as a dad, family takes precedence over prudence and my son is a far better rider than I am anyway.
And I love the colour. Astro towtruck orange by the look of it, same a I painted my sidecar rig.

Latest incarnation

I was going to put this on the Vintage racebike thread where the first pic is, but thought this was a more appropriate spot for the update.

This is Bryans latest version of his 80G







The really interesting bit is here, the latest dyno readout ,

the green curve is from 2012 when last on this particular dyno -





"The red and blue are today's before and after re-jetting/fiddling - (red before/blue after)
The main gain is in the mid range - 10hp/10ft/lbs torque (approx) at 5500rpm - right where we want to use it....brilliant result, I reckon
the air/fuel ratio is the other graph - apparently mine is a bit rich cruising but to fiddle with that will mean losses at other revs (optimal is apparently between 12.8 and 13.2 to one)

BTW I'm doing 105km/h at 3500rpm"
