I am not sure if they are the same or not. Maybe someone else knows. I have a 78 engine on the floor of my garage that I was looking for a frame for and I was going to try these carbs on it. I also have a complete bottom end from the 81. It threw a rod and destroyed a piston but the tranny is still good. Anyway enough of my story, if these carbs will fit make me an offer. I can always sell off the other parts and such. Truth be known I could almost put together a whole bike with what I have. I have lots of parts here including a 81 TCI and pickup. Anything else you may need I probably have. Let me know. At least shipping won't cost a fortune!!

As far as I know the 80-81 used the same bodies. Most of the changes were in jetting and the float bowls.

The one I need, the most, is the #1 carb, the one that the choke lever bolts to.

The ones I have are in great shape. Even has the choke lever minus the plastic.

Same as mine. One of the screws that holds the choke lever assy is broken off, and the rubber is missing on mine too.

Can you see the series number on the side of the carb body?

Problem is that I really only need one. I understand no one wants to break up a set, that would be silly, but it's hard to pay for 4 when you only need 1.

I also need a few shims, I have one more set to check, then I will know which ones I need.

                Crazcnuk,

Try the local boneyard. Mine had an entire school bus with shelves in it full of nothing but carbs. They said they would break up a set if they had been robbed of parts, which MANY of them had.

Not sure which ones, but that carb had to be on more bikes than just the XS11, especially the body. I know I saw MANY bodies that looked identical, just worked out that I got mine back to workin.

Finally got the shims I needed, and some Plasti-dip spray for the diaphragms.

May have it running again Monday, but it's been snowing here again.
