Michael, I'm a follower of the "morning is some time before noon" philosophy.
Really, we'll probably be up and around before 8 and finished with a group breakfast in camp by 9 or so. Then a ride and lunch on the road. We'll grill a group dinner after we get back from the road trip. Our plans are fluid due to the fact that we never stick to a plan.
Ray, I like the idea of the Nacimiento road because it gets us up the PCH a ways and lets us ride back toward camp in a loop, finishing up on 46 between Cambria and Paso Robles, which is a fine road and rich in wineries. But a long haul of rough road is a recipe for disaster for a group our size. There is a wealth of possible rides in the area, so no need to take risks, but risks have an upside, too.
BTW, I'll bring wood for an OUTDOOR FIRE we get to have at this KOA. Also, the pool is ready to go, and there is fishing withing half a mile. My son will be all over that, no doubt.
Oh, and I'm still bringing my own trash can.
