Good luck with the hardware removal.
Sounds like there is a sizable "zipper" fraternity among the XS'rs.

An extra great woman? Hell, I can hardly handle the one I have, never mind an extra one, besides, we're only allowed one per marraige.

                    John,

Good luck with that whole deal. I'm betting you are looking forward to riding with less pain.

I've got a titanium rod from the knee to the ankle with screws in my left leg. They aren't ever getting those back!

Thanks for the well wishes y'all. I guess I'll have it done some time in Feburary, but I may rethink riding anymore. I dumped my bagger today as I was pulling away from a stop sign while making a left turn. Stopped sliding in the center turn lane luckily. Bike just slid out from under me like I hit some oil or something, but the road surface was clean. Got a good rasberry on my left knee, and tweaked my back when I picked the bike up so quickly. Makes me wonder if it's really worth it anymore. Falling down hurts.

                              John,

I recently laid mine down, similar situation, only I was slowing down for a curve kinda quick and front tire slid so I could not get slow enough for the curve, no one coming the other way so I stayed up and tried to stop, back tire hit gravel in the far lane and started going out, got into the grass and the bike just slid out form under me. I was in the grass fortunately and it was wet so soft. Only damage was to the bike. And seemed pretty minimal, time will tell.

Hate to hear about it though and when your ready to have this surgery to. Just get on the other bike and ride a bit to let it wear off before you make any decisions. You gotta go sometime, may as well enjoy what you like to do until then.

John, The good news is you get the "Iron Man" out of your back. As far as going down, it was probably GAS from a local idiot with no gas cap! I've had the same happen to me, so I do know what that is like. Picking up the bike was probably your adrenaline, and the back started in after, correct?
This is all part of growing up, and I know you are like me in that respect. We may be getting older, but we BOTH refuse to grow up!
Don't let a little slide worry you, get the back taken care of, and just ride with Kat more often. then SHE can pick the bike up for you!
