  • Good News!

After a recent visit with my neurological surgeon (back Dr.) it was decided that the hardware that props up this old SOB in an upright manner can be removed. (Yea!) After his reading the MRI and a battery of X rays he concluded that the L1 vertabrea had healed well enough to allow the hardware to be removed. I hope this will take care of the plethora of problems that I have been experiencing lately, and allow me to be more comfortable on the bike, and in everyday life
For those of you unfamiliar with my medical situation, here is a reminder:

The pics are grainy, but you get the idea.

John glad to hear you are getting it removed. I remember reading a few years ago about your accident and how you were laid up for quite some time. Hope you feel better after wards. But I'm curious if you don't mind me asking. I have a steel plate with 13 screws in my right leg and when it gets cold I have this undescribable pain. It's pain I can live with, but have you experenced anything like this in your back? Just wondering. Hope you don't mind me asking. I wish I could have mine removed. I have one screw that has backed out a 1/4 inch in my ankle.

You should see the look on people's faces when I tell them I have a screw loose.

              Wishing you all the best!

I have 2 plates and 10 screws in my neck from two surgery's, not fun recovering from such things.

                        John,

Your news is great and just goes to show, if we humans can keep an 11 running then its a cinch for the rider too.

                        Good luck!

Your timeing is excellent. With TV's all going digital next month, we couldn't use you as an antenna anymore anyway. And no more having to get neked to pass airport security. Ya gonna start shoping for some clip ons?
'Course your gonna miss that warm, fuzzy vibration you always got when you walked past a working microwave.

Great news John! After catching a quart coke bottle (glass) across the back, the resulting exploded disk required a lumbar lamonectomy (?), so I know where you're coming fromj as far as bad back go. Without all your metal, people are going to wonder what happened to the "magnetic attraction" you had. LOL. KEEP UP WITH YOUR WATER.
