If I may add that all the Canadian Armed Forces in Afganistan have volunteered to be there. Many have served multiple tours. Wether or not you support the war is up to the individual. The fact remains that our best and brightest are putting their own lives on the line in the hope of providing basic human rights for others. As long as they feel it is worth the risk, we must support them completely. We will never forget any of those heroes who sacrificed themselves in the attempt to help others.

And Grateful we all should be.The war in Afghanistan is one that should be fought...and I hope we can beat the Taliban back to hell where they belong.With the terrible events recently in Mumbai it is clear that those elements in Afghanistan are also present in Pakistan.They should all be rooted out wherver they take refuge.And the nerve of Bush to state victory in Iraq and Afghanistan.Someone should have thrown something more lethal than a shoe at him

We should always honor the Warriors and not the war.There are a group of riders in the US known as the Patriot Guard Riders...you need not be a war veteran but many are.They will ride is escort of funeral processions and stand guard at funerals to protect the families from those wackos that protest the war and the warriors involvement.I dont have the link at the moment.So after this is posted I will find it and post it.

I am in there all the time (military discussion boards) with the screen name, 21yrsUSCGUSCS.

I want to do some of these rides in the future but they'd have to be in the NH or maybe Mass area as my leg injuries keep my rides limited.

I had the pleasure of being part of a large scale training exercise at sea with a number of Canadian Navy vessels back in '83. Good group of sailors!
