As for my plans for my bikes this winter... well the XS anyway...
First... wait until the temp gets above freezing (day after tomorrow)... Second... replace the solenoid...
Replace the XS wheels with some XJ wheels... after painting and polishing them...
Then alternate...
ride... polish...
ride... polish...
ride... polish...
Then get ready for spring... polish polish polish... mixed with (hopefully) lots more riding...
Might actually get started on the LG...

If I can make at least one person smile, or pee their pants a little, or maybe spit out their drink; then my day is not wasted.

I lived in Colo. Spgs when I bought my first Eleven 28 yrs. ago. Back then the weather was such that you did get a few riding days during the winter. I recall riding to Cripple Creek one New Years day with snow on both sides of the road. Hope you guys get some breaks in the weather before spring too .... under water here in not-so-sunny So Cal right now and for the near future.

I got @ 200 miles in yesterday. It was in the 50's when I left and headed north-ish to OKC, and then the cold front hit. I was dressed accordingly though. I have recently bought some snowmobile style mittens that are wind/water proof with Thinsulate insulation in them. They did better than any good gloves I have ever worn.. but yesterday I wore some glove liners as well as the mittens, and my hands actually stayed WARM! By the time I got back home it was 34 with a windchill of 24.. and that's not counting the 70mph windchill I was adding on top of that.
On the bottom was my pants with some insulated Carhart coveralls over them, and my boots with some thick socks. On top was a long sleeve Underarmor shirt (GREAT at wicking away moisture) with a long sleeve T-shirt over that.. .followed by my light coat and my thin rain coat over that to keep the wind out. Lastly and most important for me.. A smock thingy around my neck. Nothing bulky at all.. layers are what's important... and stayed warm... except for when the 25mph cross winds would blow up the visor on my helmet! lol.
For some reason.. I never saw another bike on the road!? (I say this like it's a BAD thing??)
Try your hardest to be the kind of person your dog thinks you are.
You can live to be 100, as long as you give up everything that would make you want to live to be 100!

I'm gonna try to get my gas tank finished to at least to the primer stage. I'm almost ready to weld in the CBR600 gas cap graft.
I tried to post a picture but all that posted was some computer gobeldegook. I'll try again later after some tobogganing with my kids.

Hey I thought that was you!!! I was north bound 35 in my S10 and you were heading south. I had to run to Edmond to pick up a Christmas gift. Too big a box or I'd have been on the Mad Mos.....just kidding it was freakin cold! I don't have all the cold weather gear yet.
Remember last Sunday when it was 68 outside? Well I was all excited and washed the bike then waited for my bro-in-law. It wasn't 5 minutes after we started that the cold front came thru. The only cold gear I had on was a hoody and gloves (and my helmet). When we got home that afternoon it was 38 and later that night it was 18!!!! From 68 to 18....Insane! We were so cold on the way home...it was painful.

I just wish I get get mine out of the garage.I'd get about two feet and start picking the bike and myself off the ground. With all this snow and ice I'd probably just leave it in the driveway.
You guys are just taunting us poor guys in cold country now.I wish the shoe was on the other foot.
