i disagree with what he has said to.

i sell on ebay a bit and in theory if you have 100 people watching you have 100 people bidding. this aint true i have tried to sell alot of stuff on ebay with alot of watchers but just like you people just want to watch to see what it brings. he caint do nothen about it so he thinks if he said serious bidders only then he will have serious watchers too. ebay dont work like that. keep watchen. i wonder if he gets alot of watchers if he will cancel the auction. i doubt it.

I have a dumb question, did the MNS have square gauges with a fuel gauge, I thought only the standards had the square gauges, someone feel free to correct me if I am mistaken, but I don't think the gauges are correct for the model. Makes me wonder how much other stuff is incorrect. have a nice day and ride safe

Well, it looks like he changed the title again. He removed the "don't watch" stuff. I'm watching now too, just to be a pill.

            Lorax...

I don't think I've ever seen a MNS with square gauges. I am just starting to wade into the XS's again. The only couple MNS's I've seen up close and personal have had round gauges.

            I'm watching as well...

              Here are the answers:

"is this a true Midnight Special or a replica?"

              Dear raragorn,

95% is a Midnight Special (XS11 LG). However the speedo, tach,
handle bars, and a few very minor things make it more of a
replica. I have done lots of research on this bike and wanted to
rebuild it based on that model. Other notes, it feels a little bit
sluggish power wise but nothing that couldn't be tweaked by
the right owner who's experienced with bikes. Thanks for your
interest. I hope you're able to place a bid.

              "does the fuel guage work"?

              Dear raragorn,

It was working when I first got the bike. It's not hooked up
right now. The fuel gauge on this bike simply tells you if you
are full or empty. From the research that I've done while
rebuilding this bike every other XS11 owner has told me that
the gauge is more of a cosmetic thing, similar to powered side
mirrors vs. non-powered. It's cool if you use it but it isn't as
accurate as the fuel gauge in a car. How serious are you about
possibly bidding on the bike? Thanks for your interest and
              have a great day.

Well, it's obvious he's not a member of this site! Otherwise he would have known about the fuel guage and what years have them and what years don't. The fuel guage that's in the stock tanks only tell you when it's low, and not what the actual level is anyway, so he would have had to install a new sensor in the tank to make that guage work.

Seems odd that he advertises that he's "very confident" in this bike, but yet tells you that it needs some help. He's only interested in selling, and not in getting this bike to a loving home. Kinda sad...

What's with the standard guages on a special?

Oh, and I'm watching it with NO intention to buy!

I'm watching also. What an idiot, if something doesn't sell you don't threaten to raise the price! It says no reserve, does that mean you could offer him say$20 and he would have to sell it for that price? That would hack him off!

I think It's great you are all messing with him. I saw this listing and did the same thing! When he said not to watch, I had to. I've been emailing him asking what the true mile were, because they aren't mns gauges he has on there, even told him he may be able to sell it here at the .com. He never did answer that question about the miles. He has been selling that bike more than a few times, each time it gets a little cheaper. Maybe by summer I can get it for $500. It just goes to show, ebay works for some people, that have a clue, and others can piss everyone off, without even trying.
Lets all all say we will give him $500, and nothing more, because those bikes are junk, death traps that the Jap's set over to kill us.
