        I remember

First time I bought gas was for my Whizzer Motorbike and it was $0.11/gal. I sometimes wish it still was, but then again if it was the global warming thing would already be upon us big time and SUV's would have engines as big as locomotives. I really do believe that the high prices are actually good for the world.

I tend to agree with you. No one is going to force the powers that be to switch to a new, cleaner form of energy if the dirty form is super cheap.

I just paid $1.49 today. However, on my way home from the station, I passed another station charging $1.59. I've never seen such a huge variation in the same area. And both of these stations were of the same company.

Geez a $1.39? This is getting ridiculous! While I like to see the prices come down...like I said earlier this does nothing to help wean us off big oil companies. But I gotta wonder how low will this go?In these parts its down to $1.73.I was thinking the bottom would be $1.50...so how low do y'all think its gonna get?

Its down to about 1.75 here now.Its not a good sign.Cheap gas is cool ,but it looks like were headed into a depression. So everything will lose value.Including workers.

Gee.. You guy's are lucky to be paying these prices. We produce much of what the rest of the country consumes and we are still over $2.20 here in South Louisiana.

Gone even lower here than my thread starter...

Down to $1.939 here (87 octane). Ol Rusty likes the cheap stuff.

Just shows you how we were had by the oil companies. The speculators ran up the price for oil futures just like the real estate speculators ran up real estate prices. Now the bubble has burst and apparently there's a world-wide oil glut. Won't last though...heard on the radio this AM that oil prices have gone up $5 a barrel overnight...and so begins another cycle.

If we can all just keep our consumption down maybe it'll not be so bad. I ride my bike all the time and only roll my cage when I absolutely have to. Rode down to the VA Med Center in San Fran in the rain (240 mile round trip) recently. Guess I'm hard core. I don't do snow and ice though if I can help it.

$1.719 (87oct) at Rotten Robbie, Lakeport, Ca and most others in town except Chevron which is $1.799. Wish they'd just say 1.80 instead of that silly 1/10 cent "discount". They really do think we're stupid...
