Still riding 46 miles to work every day almost, I do cold and I do rain but I try not to do cold and rain. Last year I got to Thanks Giving which is about the time around here the ground gets a frost in it and I have to worry about the black ice which takes a lot of the fun out of it. As others have I don't really put them to bed as there are days every month where I can get out for a few miles. I try to take one out to do my Christmas shopping on.

Rode to work Monday, temp was 36 deg F (2.2 deg C) when I left the house. No special gear other than my heavy winter gloves. However, temps were in the high 60's deg F on the way home, makes the morning ride worth it. I do have a Vetter Windjammer IV with lowers.

Biggest problem is that I live west of work, so have to ride into the sun both ways. Can be a real problem this time of year.

SWMBO and I commute together 3 days a week, so my days of commuting on the XJ are limited. I try to make the most of them.

              Another backrest

Steppenwolf, here's a pic of my backrest on the coast to coast trip on the Honda 450. Backpack frame sewed on the duffel bag made a good one....

It just snowed here, a few days ago. My bikes are still out in the yard but I haven't ridden them in the past week. Nothing stayed and the roads are clear, but I don't have enough cold weather gear to make it through, time to put insurance back on the car I guess...

With the first winter storm now behind us I do not think my bike will see the road again this year. i didn't even get a descent day to wash her so that will have to be done in the garage.

Fear not, Rob, temperatures are going up to the low teens (Celsius) this weekend. Should give you enough temp 'n time to give that bike of yours a good wash .

I'm hoping to keep going 'til mid November, as long as we don't get anymore of that white $#it .

Temps have been in the high teens here, this week.

                      Too bad I don't have a bike...
Nice day, if it doesn't rain...

33 degrees here now in NH and my bike is hibernating in my buddy's shed, looks like a small barn, in Maine.

Mine's laid up now. We've had our first snow this week so i'll be riding my VFR from now 'til the Spring. Salt kills, but it's only a Ho ho ho ho..

I'll be riding the Virago year round (except for those few real cold days we get here in TX). XS I just can't trust to start when it's real cold right now.

I was just through NJ, about 60 mi north of Ben's place (madmaxim) and there is snow on the ground, not just dust, but piles of plowed snow.
