    Hey there Craz,

Those types of things are in the programming of the software that we are using, so we can't change it. Regrettably, just need to remember that once you POST your reply, and then you want to edit/make changes, you will want to SAVE your changes vs. re-posting it! You could create your post in Notepad, review and edit it, and THEN copy and paste it into the REPLY window! JAT!

Then why the heck is that button there at all?

it's not like you CAN post a reply while your in the middle of editing...

I find it a MAJOR PITA.

It's one of those things that people try to figure out why the programmer did that. I do that to people all the time

Well, there is actually a little bit of control that is available for the layout with these forums. I'm making this post so I can edit it and see what you're talking about.

Edit - Ah, I see what you're talking about. When you go to edit a reply you're most likely that last one who has posted to the thread. Since it edits the post in place, what you're seeing is the bottom "Post reply" button that is there on all thread pages. If you hit the "Go advanced" button before editing it will bring up the full text editor on it's own page, eliminating the confusion. There may even be a preference for that. I'll look it up.

I asked this once before but don't recall a response (probably the memory). On my ST forum that also uses this software, you can hover over a thread title and it will show you the first sentence or two without having to open the thread. YERY handy when catching up on threads to quickly see if it is of any interest or not, but we can't do that here. Can that feature be turned on?

Hmm, I do remember that. It was hovering over the entire pane rather then the title though, and was a bit annoying (that's why it was turned off). It appears to have gotten lost in the shuffle. I'll see what I can do.

Thanks JW. If it works pretty much the way it does on the ST forum, I think folks would find it very useful.

I found that hovering feature very annoying when it was turned on in the beginning. JMHO

Maybe it worked differently here, because in no way is it annoying on the other v bulletin powered site.

It's only there when you want it to be for easy quick scanning of threads titles.

Luckily, others had found that annoying as well, since there was a fix for it on the vB forums, There hadn't been before.

I have turned it back on. Now, instead of hovering the preview over the whole frame the thread title is in, it will now only pop up when you hover over the thread title itself.

We'll let it run for a while and if there's issues we can go from there. I can see where it would be handy...

Yep, it's ok now. Just the way it was in the beginning with boxes popping up all over the place was a pain, but with it only on the thread itself is just fine.

                              Link Text Formatting

In the old interface you could insert a link and also format the text that would show up in the post. I've seen several posts with the link text formatted, but darned if I can figure out how to do it with the new interface. Anybody know the secret?
