Well after yesterdays ride,not the whole route was still 150 miles for me and would be about 190 or so for the whole run..don't know where everyone is coming from,I left at 37 degrees and hit 34 a time or two..this late in the season this might be too aggressive of a ride if ya don't have a fairing....so I might suggest we save that ride for spring or summer run and maybe do a meet and greet in West Chester(Is this convient to all?)and then maybe a shorter ride to Hueston Woods, Eaton,Camden or some where along those lines...a ride could be put together in a matter of minutes.Ideas,suggestions,thoughts,ramblings,place s to see..are ya still coming,still want to?
Good golly I hit a bar in Owensville,back tracked a bit to go to it..it was a helhl hole back 25 years ago then and still is,I was given the three times over look,musta thought I was undercoverBut the Bud Lite tasted good.

I'm up for whatever, I'll be honest, it wouldn't matter to me if we all got together, had breakfast and went home, I just want to meet some of the fine people from the site. a nice ride in the country would be icing on the cake. Don't get me wrong, I love to ride, but I have a tendency towards being a trifle garrulous, so any kind of meet and greet is fine by me, could last 20 minutes, could last 2 hours it's all good to me. All I got, have a nice day and ride safe

Doesn't make a lot of difference to me either, although I did like the ferry ride idea. I'm up for whatever the group thinks. As far as the temperature is concerned, old Betsy's nekid but I've got lots of clothes I can wear.

Playing it by ear may work with a very small turnout, but if everybody shows I think it would be better to have a semi-firm plan. Bill, if you'll nail down the route I'll print out maps for the group - deal?

Right now the weather report is for a high of 61 degrees and a 30% chance of rain. That's a 70% chance of dry, right?

I have no problem with the cold, but I don't care much for being rained on. I agree with The Lorax, whether it be a ride through the country or breakfast and BS, I'm in it to meet the locals.

I've been looking at this to most likely be my last ride of the season so as long as the rain stays in the clouds I'm up for anything. As we all know, the forecast for next Sunday will change at least three times between now and then, so that could be a big factor in "playing it by ear."

Ok then,exact route..I have not made this run in one ride but is a combination of a few rides.About 100 miles from the starting point in New Richmond..east RT 52 ( with a stop or two to see the river)to just east of Utopia(about 3 miles to pull off,be carefull,down hill and rough with gravel) and take the ferry across to Augusta Ky where we would pick up RT 8 east to Maysville(don't know the street names but a quick turn off to the flood wall and river)pick up RT 68 at wall to Rt 52 west in OH to Higginsport and take Rt 505 north to Rt 756 west,watch the left turn,lots of gravel in the middle of the turn. Till we hit Felicity and quick turn or two and pick up Rt 222 heading north till we hit Rt 50 west and then a short jump to Perintown and the UDF for final goodbyes and gas ups to get home.
If you have not been along Rt 52 before I will stop so you can take a look see at the river and a dam.
The roads are in good shape,a few bumps,light traffic..should be a good time.
10:30 at Frisches in New Richmond gased and ready to go.........with stops..about a four hour max ride,closer to three..depends on if we stop for lunch etc.
We have a plan etched in stone:-)

Murals

I noticed the Murals from Maysville.I didn't know about them & have worked in that area alot.Thx for sharing. I don't know if anyone has ever mentioned or posted about the ones in Portsmouth ,Oh but they are something to see as well. http://www.portsmouthmuralproducts.com/ They are especially enjoyable after lunch /dinner at the Scioto Ribber on Gallia Street in Portsmouth. I have personally faced, and conquered this hazard. I came over from the KY side and had to go up the hill, it's not very long, but it's pretty steep and has has plenty of loose gravel. I'm guessing it will seem just a bit more intimidating on the way down, but hey, at least there's a river there to break you're fall!

I was going to take the ferry a couple of years ago in the cage but it looked like a sheet of ice and the ferry was on the other side so I went to the bridge.
Good job with the map,no back tracking, the river looks different each way and the ride is different...so how many are coming?..Me for sure,looks like dbeardslee,egleaves,lorax.I shouldn't have to bring this up but when parking on the OH side of the river make sure you leave your bike in gear after you shut it down:-)

Stay away from all small sick kids,strange women,don't do anything stupid at work and get hurt,be nice the the little woman,no football on sunday,and ride like grandpa on the way to the meetKnow of many falls this year from rides just like this so lets make this a safe ride with some good memories.

Bill, My brother's coming and I think TupperJ and his daughter are going to try and make it. My neighbor with the harley might, and I know another guy who might - definite maybes. I just heard the weather report a few minutes ago and they're saying the rain will be mostly moved out of the area on Sunday. High is forecast at 57 degrees - should be nice.

Handeling with a 30 plus pound fairing is not the same as a nakid bike:-)

Got bike ready for the ride,all packed,washed,waxed,full of gas,oil change,rear and middle gears serviced,new tires and brakes...electrical system gone over.......should be perfect...


Damn........battery is dead....9.5 volts..TCI won't work...looks like I will be in the Toyota for this ride
