Just thought it might be nice to see some recent xs pics up on the site.

It's kinda small and low quality but it's all I have scanned right now. It's amazing how quick an xs will corner with straight bars and a little youthfull foolishness.

Well I have tried twice and sent my picture in since before Dec 2002. And have yet to see them posted. And no reply from the link I sent it to.
Any ideas on what to do to get them posted I'm sure will be welcome to everyone that would like to see thiers on the site.

You can post them yourself, in this forum anyway. If you have an image scanned into your computer you can upload it to a pic host site such as http://www.digitalpose.com then right click on the image, get properties, and copy the complete link. Post the link in here using the "IMG" button in the post reply screen. HTH

The ownership says it's a 79, but it looks like someone put a later year grabrail on it. Everything else seems in great condition though. Someone replaced the fuse panel already, and didn't find any of the other typical problem except for leaky cam chain tensioner. Paid 1600$ canadian and it has 32,000 km.

It looks like you got a great deal! The whole seat/grabrail/fender area appears to be from a later year. The 79 seat is flatter and the tail light is on the fender, not on the grabrail. How well does the seat fit onto the frame? Is the helmet lock covered? I have wanted to put a more stepped seat on my 79 but heard that the fitment was different.

Thanks for the info about the seat/grabrail/fender, the seat fits where it's supposes to just fine, sometimes it's hard to be sure that the tounge on the front of the seat is engaged properly, but when it is on the bolts line up great. Maybe a previous owner wanted the same as you (more stepped seat) and switched everything over to make it fit right. Cool. I guess this makes it even MORE custom now, heh..

I will try to get a clearer pic of the seat area as these photos are stills captured from video, and none too clear.

Also, did the valve cover ever come chrome plated in stock form in any year? It really looks great, not a mark on it.

The valve cover may not be chromed. They are alum. and can be polished up real nice if you spend enough time on it. I poloshed mine this winter when I was doing my new paint and everything else. It came out real nice.

That's unusual, I've never seen that from the factory. Someone must of had it done special. I bet it's nice and alot easier to take care of than mine.

                          Hey Nomad!

Have you tried spraying your Polished cases with a polyurethane
laquer, it works for mine and IMHO takes on a real deep lustre and has a cleaner character to chrome.

Have a look at my bike on http://members.optusnet.com.au/~stavwod

                          Cheers Mate!

                            STAVA,

I've got clear on some areas of my bike but didn't use it on areas that I thought might get too hot and yellow. Your bike looks real nice, I might try clear on the valve cover if you're not having any problem with it.

                            Thanks, NOMAD

great looking bike.... rear looks like a 1980-81. You can check this by looking at the serial # on the yoke of the frame. Then look on this site at the Specifications and find out what year had what serial #'s. Still it is a great looking bike and I hope it runs just as good for you.
