Talkin' about tanks....................
Couldn't get the size of these pics the way I wanted, off Webshots.com, but will go for the largest, I'm able to figure out for now ~~

This is the Kawasaki Concours 7 & half gal. tank, I put on this beast about 6-7 years ago, from an '86 Concours, new, that I had back then. My son put a small knee dent in the right side, and messed up the fairing, in a "slight crash", that I put all back to make it new again. Kept the tank, to maybe find use for later.

I used XS11 "standard" petcocks, both sides; had to fashion an adapter plate for one side. Petcock hole was nearly a direct match. Other hole was where fuel indicator had been; a bit different. At a later time, I'll do a new thread, and put more pics
of minor modifications that I did to bottom of tank (with a hammer and heating torch), and will show petcock attachments. The tank is secured with zip-ties! Four zip-ties; about 1 cm wide; 175 lb. test. Clever, simple method, for underneath attach; I'll show on the future thread. Zip-tie on each side of the front underneath; two on the rear. Can't move it, when it's cinched down. It scoots seat back, about 3/4 of an inch. The machine handles much better, with the extra weight of the extra fuel, and it's forward. Ergonomics is the best I've ever had on a machine. I have the original 3.9 gallon tank on, now, temporarily, because I needed to get the tank off and on several times in next few months, quickly; doing a few things under the tank. The large tank is heavy with fuel, off and on, and when I cinch those zip-ties down, I don't want to have to cut 'em again a few weeks later.........................................
Small indents in front of top of tank were made, so the back/bottom of triple-tree would clear; ground some off triple-tree, also.

In above pic, the headlite rig I have (if you look close; dang small pics), I fashioned from sissy bar off an '88 VMax, that I bought new at the time. Put a more expensive, taller, factory/dealer sissy bar on, to replace the stock~~that, 15 years later, ended up on this bomb, to hold the headlite.
