heheh, yeah , I guess "expensive" is a relative term, eh?

Ken, Ontario also has mandatory coverage, and all of the quotes above are only with liability (1 million).

That 43% discount sounds cool, do you have to be with the same company for the whole claim-free 10 years? Or just claim free, no-matter who you were insured with?

Yes, you have to be with the same company, but that is easy to do. The fact is here in BC there is only one company, and that is the government crown corporation monopoly. We get it both ways - insurance is mandatory, and there is only one place you can get it..

I have been with Primmum for 2 years now , for my XJ with no collision basic pl&pd I pay 440 this year ( up 60 from last year ). It make a big change as to what you value the bike at and area you live.
The mentioning of ING insurance is interesting. Up until about 3 years ago vintage bike owners (bikes over 20 yrs) could get insurance from a maritime area insurance company for about $100 per year. ING bought them out and collapsed the plan. For us multiple old bike owners it was a huge hit. I hope they reintroduce the coverage .

Yes, Primmum seems to be the best quote I can get.
I take it that your XJ is the 1100?

I e-mailed ING and a lady there replied that no, they don't write policies for bikes in Ontario.
She then reffered me to Riders Plus, which writes policies through Kingsway, and 'Open Road Insurance Program' www.openroadprogram.com , who writes policies through Primmum.

Not much to choose from, huh. I am always getting re-routed back to either Kingsway, Primmum, or Jevco.
