81xs, your test would be more accurate if guys planned to mount a fuel pump between the float bowls and the carb throat, but I'm not sure how that'd work. The guys who consider installing a fuel pump to increase fuel flow are ignoring some simple math.
Of course, I wonder how fast a fuel pump would empty the tank? Only you couldn't use it through the engine. Take the o-ring out of your fuel metering needle if you want more gas in the engine. My Virago does that and winds up looking like jet ski for a few seconds. Be sure to have an extinguisher handy for the experiment.
