Bleeding Heart works also. I'm on the fence here. I dont believe in taking guns away from people who know how to use them and what they're for. After all, weren't they the same gun owners who stood for us against England in the Revolutionary War? However, I CAN see how the genius group on Capitol Hill would believe that leaving innocent citizens unarmed and begging to be victimized would be a good thing.

Seriously, the Make My Day law is the coolest thing. I dont believe in Rambos running around with guns blazing but I do wholeheartedly believe in people having the right to defend themselves and their families and property. You pull a gun on me out in the street, and the wallet I reach for is going to contain a .38 snub. Its about time we take back the streets.

Sorry....off the high horse now. I'd have had a hard time NOT running the kid down in my truck...just brushing the back wheel ya know...we need more people who pro actively protect their neighborhoods and friends. Good job man!!

      Good for you, Mr. Blue!!!

You're a hero in work clothes. Most people use the familiar" I don't want to get involved." But not you. You do the Right Thing.
I just got my August issue of American Rifleman. In Wayne LaPierre's column he reports what the liberal side of the court said in the recent DC Vs. Heller opinion. Justice john paul stevens said this the majority opinion is "an overwrought and novel description of the Second Amendment." He also said that the right was solely "to maintain a well-regulated militia." And he said that the framers of the Constitution "never evidenced the slightest interest in limiting any legislature's authority to regulate private civilian uses of firearms. Specifically, there is no indication that the Framers of the Amendment intended to enshrine the common-law right of self-defense in the Constitution." This is the most baldfaced lie I have ever heard. The portion of the Constitution that the Second Amendment is part of is called THE BILL OF RIGHTS!!!!!!!! And the other nine rights protected the individual's rights. Why would the Framers put one in there that did not follow the intent of the rest???? justice david souter started his dissenting opinion with these words "In MY opinion---"Hello, The justices are not suppose to have an personal opinion!!!!
Now then I apologize to you people for screaming, I am sorry. Now I will take blood pressure pill, go to my gun safe and fondle my M1 Garand. Maybe my butt will stop chewing gum too!

        Look back in time...

When there was a gunman in the tower in Texas, I believe it was in the 60's, he was held off long enough for the cops to get him 'by a group of well armed citizens'. I can't remember the exact time. It was at that college.
I opt for the 'Old West' way of doing things...sure, you have a gun on your hip, but so do I...Definitely a reduction in impetus if you know someone will shoot back.
As a commercial driver, we're not allowed to carry guns. However, I always had a bricklayers hammer in the hammer hook on my Carhartt's. I've had to use it twice, both times with great success! It saved me.
The only thing is...whether it's a baseball bat, a bricklayers hammer or a gun, you have to be completely willing to USE it, and face the consequences.

Carolyn I always carried bear spray that was meant for the big dears. If they can still move after a dose of that shooting them probably wouldn't stop them either. I always had it in the bunk thought it would make a great surprise to one of those ******* that break into you rig. My problem is if I get pissed off I forget about the spray as happened when they opened the doors on my trailer in good ole Chicago. Cheeky bastards were back into it by the time I got back to the tractor. Had to go back again only this time I was ugly. Glad I am ole and mellow now

Oh yeah a tip for my American Brothers and Sisters don't bring a gun into Canada. You will go to jail and it does not matter what you say or do. I have met several truckers that spent time here not on vacation. I have friends that never leave home without being armed but they rent a locker just before the border when coming here. Please don't try it I think the border guys can smell a gun.
