I went on an annual Guns & Hoses ride and noticed a couple of bikes in front of me that had the brake light flasher mechanism. When they hit the brake it would flash 3-5 times then remain on solid after. It looks like it would catch the attenion of drivers behind the bike and prevent rear ending. Just curious if anyone has this installed on their bikes? Here is a link. http://www.signaldynamics.com/products/Modules/xp.asp

I've got one on my shadow, I'd like to get one for the XS but I haven't yet. I like it, it was easy to install and like you said I think it really catches your attention. Before I got it I would flash the lights by pumping the brakes a little, but you can't do that in a "panic" sort of situation which is when you most need those behind you to notice your stopping. Mine isn't that brand but the same thing.1979 xs1100 Special -

One other thing, I've been considering turning the rear signals into run/turn/brake lights. If you ever do something like that make sure you don't hook the rear signal lights to the brake light flasher. Imagine how confusing it would be if you were slowing down with your blinker going...1979 xs1100 Special -

Here's another one, I used on my 3rd brake light on my truck, I may see if it works on the bike too.
Also have the sequencers on our mustangs, really cool.!!

Forgot about this post, but I finally got this one today and it was less than 5 mins to hook up.
Remove the lense, remove the backer plate, Unplug the yellow wire, add 2 bullet connectors (male/female) to the unit and plug the unit in and ground it!!
The unit tucks right up into the bracket nicely.
Works great!
Flashes 3-5 times and stays on, and won't reset for 15 seconds, so if you are in stop and go traffic and you are on the brake often, it won't flash every time you hit the brakes, but will start if you are off them more than 15 seconds.

LED brake lights assist flasher.
To increase visibility I added a plastic full license plate backing plate to which I mounted two 21 LED truck clearance light arrays on each side of my plate.
I got the flasher from a guy in NC who sells them on ebay and it tucks in neatly in the brake light bracket. In order to not interfere with proper brake light operation should the flasher fail, I did not have this unit operate the brake light, only the LEDs. But, as they say... a picture is worth a thousand words.... This is not my bike but where I got the idea and information from:

Nice!
I was thinking on ordering a separate LED (3rd Brake light) basically the same thing, and mount it on top of the light or under the rack on the back of the bike hooked to the flasher unit only.
Either way, makes a statement for the people behind you. Can't be too safe.!Dave
