This was one winter here, a difference of a couple of hours, we ended up stopped on our way home due to zero visibility.... one of my most scariest moments. It got so bad out that day that I had a guy walk over to my drivers window and I could not see him until he was within a foot of the van!

And....this is a typical Barrie winter as seen from my bedroom window

                G'day Knobache!...

Off the nest for five minutes eh? Good to see you've come up for air you rootrat you!

I'm going to Wilton tomorrow to pick up an entertainment unit I bought off eBay. It would be a fanbloodytastic ride if I wasn't taking the car.

You know Wilton? They jump out of aeroplanes there. Hugely popular I'm told. I'll bet it will be even more popular when they start using parachutes!

I had a thought. (it hurt)

If you're not doing anything, why not ride over here, leave your bike in the garage and ride the Swiftcicle to Wilton and back?

You'll be able to see what a 'proper' XS1100 should go like.

Plus I'll need a hand with the entertainment unit. I've got a hand trolley but two blokes will be easier than one.

Come on wankstain, you need some time in the fresh air!

                Give me a ring. 98775435

I guess this explains why I ship more parts to Australia and NZ this time of year than in your summer.

                    Gaslight!

I saw this today in the oldest part of Sydney (The Rocks) and could hardly believe my eyes. This is a gaslight! Installed before electricity and maintained in working order by Sydney City Council.

I knew I had to take a pic but wasn't sure if anyone would be interested so I stuck it in this thread.

Just struck me as so very unusual I thought I had to share.

                    Dan.

Should we start a wierd/unusual pic thread?

I wonder how old it is?

I like the idea of the weird/ unusual pics thread... just have to be careful about some members around here with that one...

                        1837 ish...

This was one of the first gas street lights installed in Sydney. This started in 1837 so I can only guess it must date from around then. I'll make some calls tomorrow and see what I come up with.

They were thinking of us in 1818!

I took these pics today because I wondered why anyone would go to such an effort just to show distances to other parts of the Colony. I figured some far sighted person way back in 1818 was thinking of us riders and thought this would be helpful in planning a ride...

I did my best to avoid pilgrims but I'm afraid some World Youth Day flags appear. Oh well. Big day Sunday then fly home Monday. Bless 'em

Well it's Spring now but what the hey!

This is a drive over the Sydney Harbour Bridge in a bus. It's just an excuse to share some Steppenwolf really. I'm driving.

If you go to Google Maps search for Sydney and then zoom in on Bondi bay to the highest resolution......it's wild!

I got a buddy there in Bondi that comes back state side every December.
