This is my winter project. It started as a frame and motor from a 78 standard. After cutting rear of the frame.and cleaning motor, prep and another cleaning. I masked and painted the motor. I put it back together with slotted rotors, short fender, badlander seat, pod flters, new bigger jets, 4 to 1 supertrap, clubman bars, speciual gauges, and special signals & headlight. Copper chopper paint from the best xs guy around (ole492 Olson) and some new tires. I love it. It is a fun one! ready for liftoff.

Nice looking ride. I'd like to know a little more about the seat. what is was originally intended for, or if it's a one off.
Thanks

So it's a hit, cool.
I just got it back to a running unit. Yes, I had the carbs rejetted. I'm just starting to read about the pods, more info would be a help.
I.ve shot around the parking lot next door a little, and for a block or two around. I'm on hold for a preasure switch and have to finish some other parts. It's close to finished. You have not had a look at the other side yet. It really has alot of snot. The 78's are the most fun to rip around on ,I think, but i like the looks of the specials. Thanks for the good words. I know your heads are in the right place, motorcycle wise.
The seat is a hardly bad lander that i cut and mounted to part of my kid's skateboard. It's connected in 4 spots. I don't think it's going to move. It does two jobs. It gives me a good curved base and keeps the boy from the skate. HA, Hope he doesn't read this. Thanks GW

Hey XS11Lover,
That is one fine looking Special/Standard with "Badittude"!!!
I like how the clubman bars seem to embrace the round gauges. Nice work on seat and fender as well! Are you going to put a FRONT fender on it, or just let the rain slosh all over those nice new pipes?? Or is it going to be a FAIR WEATHER ONLY ride?
I wouldn't blame you for that at all. As for the Emgo filters, several threads, plus a couple of tech tips for mods IN CASE they do cause you problems with the higher rpms, bogging, flooding, etc., due to the possible restriction of air flow thru the ports on the inlet bell!
Folks have recently posted about some filters from MikesXS that are larger, say "XS" on them, and don't have the prominent mounting lip that "can" interfere with the air flow! I know you've already invested $$ in these, but you don't want the performance to falter due to a relatively simple and cheap fix!

I'll look at the ones mike's xs has. I didn't know.
I have a fender but when I went to put it on, it didn't fit. The no fender look is growing on me.
Thanks for the word.

The only prob with the ones from mikes, is that the clamps are too small. They just barely get loose enough to put the filters on before the clamps come apart. Save the ones from your emgo's or pick some up from the plumbing section. Other than that, they are REALLY nice and well made. They might even be made out of actual K&N fliter as if can be bought stand alone for custom filter making.'81 XS1100 SH

NICE job of it.
You may want to consider a front fender however, or it will not be nice for long.
