  • KC Area/ Bob Jones Memorial Ride

    Hi guys,

I was just wondering how many folks from the KC area were planning to attend the Bob Jones Memorial Ride in Arkansas in May. Thought it would be nice if several of us could ride down together.

I am not sure what is in the cards for me just yet, but come closer to time and I get the oportunity to go then I will let you know. I know another guy here in town, Bigfoot, and he may very well want to go as well.

I still plan on going as well, don't know whether it will be with or without SWMBO at this point. She hasn't made up her mind yet.

I’m planning on going. Should arrive Friday, maybe late. Wasn’t planning on swinging past Kansas but will think about hooking up with you guys if you set a place and time. Were is everybody staying? Bohn, did you get the address of the Hardees?

              Thanks,
              Bob

I am not sure about the location of the Hardees but have asked Karla to let everyone know where it is. . . . Bohn

Looks like I am in. Had to bribe SWMBO but I think it will be worth it. My plan is to take that Friday off and meet up with Vincer and whoever else wants to ride down together. I believe we are going to meet up with Trbig and stay in Eureka springs. It was about 4.5 - 5 hours to get there. Wouldn't mind leaving early enough so we can take our time.

I haven't made any lodging arrangments yet, but plan to ride down with you Vincer, and you Bigfoot, if that will work.

it looks like Hardees is on the North end of town right on 62/65 highway.

Does anyone know how long the ride is planned for?.... I'm trying to decide whether to come back Saturday afternoon, or if we will ride most of the day and come back Sunday morning.

Eureka Springs is 43 miles away and has a TON of nice little hotels for under $50 inc. tax.
I can’t find any of these on the internet ($62 for Ho Jo and $81 for the Comfort Inn). Someone pick one and I’ll book a room. It would be nice if it is in walking distance of food and beer but not absolutely necessary. From the map it looks like there are a lot of interesting roads so I’m staying at least till Sunday.

If you're wanting to stay in Eureka Springs, this is a nice clean place with King beds and a big room. Apple Blossom Inn
                            (479) 253-5552. It's right on the main strip.

I think most of us have decided to just go ahead and stay in Harrison at the Days Inn (870) 391-3297. I don't have any clue to what's within walking distance though since I've never been there.

As of right now there are at least 4 of us headed down from KC on three bikes. We will be leaving Friday afternoon, not sure what time yet. As we get closer to the ride I will update.
