I put in longer lines too, with the right petcock feeding the left carbs, etc. I can remove the hold-down bolt at the rear of the tank, block the tank up with a piece of wood, and sync it right like that without removing the tank at all.

I suspect a lot of XS'ers have put longer lines and crossed up the petcocks.

On my standard I run both petcocks together at a tee and feed all four carbs.

I can run longer on a tank instead of starving a side and switching to reserve. Now when I start to run dry it is all four carbs, but I only need to move one petcock to bring them all back.

At one time I thought I would actually have two reserves, but it does not work out that way. The standard tank cross drains pretty well. I tried it one time and was surprised that when my first reserve started run out, I switched to my second. The motor flamed out and I coasted to the side.

Vyger is washed, oiled and polished. I will be heading out around 11:30.

While I was washing it I could hear motorcycles all over the place. Beautiful day!

          Damn it!

I just got back from a 250 mile ride up the Columbia River Gorge and then up through Glenwood and Klickitat, WA... BUT I would have been a lot happier to have met up with some of you guys even farther up north!! Next time you post a meet/greet/rally/beer get-together, write it up in the NW section as well so its easier to find (at least for me!). Have a (few) cold ones for me and enjoy the weather, I am off with a buddy on his XS to grab some grub and brews just as soon as I hit "submit"!

          Stay in touch -

                sorry

I guess I'd better not say anything about the topless waitresses then.

Again - I can't emphasize enough, NW rallies/meets/etc. should be posted in the NW section! Not all of us have the free time to weed through all of the idle talk just to find out when some local buddies are getting together for some beers?! Keep a brotha' in the loop.

Glad you had fun, I should have been there...

I admit it wasn't planned far enough in advance to get everyone notified in time. And we didn't expect a big turn out, It was just a chance to meet people and go over some maps and route ideas, but with the weather in the area being what it is this time of year short notice is probably going to be the only way we can do it for a while. As for posting it in the N/W rides post I don't think very many people are reading it any more, it would help if we had a bulletin board where we could post notices of rides or a get-together or maybe we do and I haven't found it.
