    Well,

I did a little searching, found the old thread that he posted in commenting about borrowing my bank of carbs, and the bike, and found the dead photo links to photobucket, but was able to see his addy/url for his photoalbums, and found it, and found the photos here:
    http://s198.photobucket.com/albums/aa139/WARLOK6969/
    under the last album, XS1100!

I wanted them(his face/bike) along with a copy of his post from 10-13-2007 to be able to show to any constabulary if it gets down to that, to show that we had a least a gentlemen's agreement, or oral contract, with written documentation that they were LOANED!

Thanks, yes, I did note that there were some 20 other bike shops in that city, so I'm sure some of them know this guy, and hopefully will know where to find him if I can't!!!

Will keep you all informed on what transpires by tomorrow night!

            The NEW WHOLE STORY!

Well, I've been there and back today....PHEW, 728 miles round trip, SWMBO's SUV got 24 mpg total, not to shabby!!

Prom, this will renew your faith in our fellow man/biker!

BIG THANKS to Egsols for his last post providing the NEWEST addy for Jackhammer cycles!

I had all three addys, and had mapped them out on my printout from Mapquest, and due the route I was going to follow once I got into town, that addy on Thomas St. was the first one I was going to come across!

Well, drove up to it, around back to the parking lot and there was his shop, bikes sitting out in the lot, the large door way open, and he was working on another person's bike!

I walked up to him and said, hey there, I'm "T.C.", TopCat from Virginia! He said "wow" okay, as he looked UP at me while shaking my hand!

I told him that both me and Fred had been trying to get in touch with him. That's when he told me that he had been in a bad wreck around November, got T-boned from the right side while on his bike at an intersection, was hospitalized for 2 months, had to move his shop due to finances and such, his computer had also crashed, lost his favorites, links, emails etc.!

SO...I stated that since I was in the area, that I would go ahead and get my carbs, regrettably the ones he had gotten from Canada were in horrible shape, and he had just been busy trying to get himself back on his feet after having to move and recover from his injuries. He finished working on the bike he was working on, and then removed my bank of carbs from his Award winning bike, poured the fuel out, wrapped them up in plastic and gave them to me!

I've already written to FREDinToon in a PM explaining why I didn't take back his old Special tank....had already been custom painted, but he didn't have any Special petcocks and didn't realize that the Standard's wouldn't fit on the Special tank. I was sure that Fred really wanted the Larger Standard tank, and so once Jim gets the petcocks he needs, then he can swap the tanks, and send Fred his nice clean undented larger Standard tank, and use his/Jim's own $$ for paying the shipping fees so that he and Fred will be Even/Square!

SO....all's well that ends well....now to get my butt....er, I mean my lower back massaged by SWMBO.....12 hours on the road!

Just a quick note to let everyone and anyone know. Vindicator Cycles LLC in Cromwell CT is not affiliated in any way shape or form with JACKHAMMER CYCLES LLC or VINDICATOR CYCLES LLC in South Carolina. I am going on my third year in business. I have received phone calls from others in your situation with Jim Horton. It is acts like these that give other shops a bad name. VINDICATOR CYCLES LLC in Myrtle Beach SC is a new business as of 1/30/2008 and is not even registered to Jim Horton. You can check this info with the secratary of state for South Carolina. And as a matter of fact JACKHAMMER CYCLES LLC isnt registered to Jim either.......

I can be contacted at Tony@Vindicatorcycles.com or you can call me at 860-613-1100

Thank You and Good Luck getting your parts back.

                Tony

Tony, just to let YOU know, both Jackhammer Cycles, LLC and Vindicator Cycles, LLC in Myrtle Beach ARE mine. What you looked at on the SC Secretary of State website is ONLY the listing of the Agent of Record, not the names of the actual owner/organizer/founder of the company. Now, seeing as you are new here, I am going to suggest that you read ALL of a thread before you start making statements about someone giving shops a bad name. No offense taken, or intended......

Now, just to give you and others a little more history lesson.....

On 1/30/2008, Vindicator Cycles, LLC was filed with SC and the DOT and NHTSA as a motorcycle MANUFACTURER!!!!! Also, as I reserved the name Vindicator Cycles 6 years ago, My attorney feels that I have a decent case against a "shop" in Cromwell, CT for copyright infringement, or something along those lines.... But I don't feel a need for that, considering.....

Jackhammer Cycles, LLC was founded nearly 7 years ago, here in Myrtle Beach. Under that name I have won 4 trophies, my latest in 2006 at the Myrtle Beach Fall Rally. That was a First Place Bobber, beating out 3 Harley-Davidson's for that trophy.

And had you read all of this thread, you would have read about the circumstances that caused the delay in returning parts, and would also know that all is now well!!!!!

In the future, Tony, get all the facts first. If your business is recieving calls about me, please give them my phone number. It is:

                  843-293-0423

Jim, My intent was not to discredit you in any way. I just want to state a fact that we were not afiliated. I have received phone calls and yes i did see the circumstances. There was a post sending someone to my site. That comes up doing a search and i just wanted to rectify a misunderstanding before it started. Please accept my apologies for any misunderstanding.

Back to the start of this thread

                        Hi Jim,
great to read that you are up and running again. We did have a phone conversation a week or so ago where you said you would be mailing the Standard tank to me but I have not seen it yet so, "Hey Jim, where's my tank?"

That would be cool. I'm building 3 old school bikes for a show this year, and will probably set up display at a place across fromm HD. Let me know when you get to town.
