  • Hey Jim, where's my tank?

    Hey StreetRat,

I saw that you are in Columbia, about an hour away form the Myrtle Beach area!!

Another member and myself are having a bit of trouble contacting a member named JackHammer01, aka Jim Horton of JackHammer Cycles in Myrtle Beach, SC.

This other member sent a gastank at great personal expense, was supposed to receive a Standard one in exchange, has never shown up! I "loaned" Hammer a bank of 79SF carbs to put on his custom bike for a show he entered it in and won. This has been some 6 months ago, and he had pledged to return the carbs, but have not had any email replies for quite some time?

SO....I/we were wondering if you happen to go to the Myrtle Beach area during your job, or weekends, and was wondering if you would be able to try to look up Jim, and see what's happening, and whether he's even still there, etc.??

    Thanks for your time!

    Hey Jim, where's my tank?

Could any list member in or near to Myrtle Beach SC do me a favor? As background, Jim Horton who's username on this site is Jackhammer01 operates Jackhammer Cycles at 2658 Temperance Drive Myrtle Beach SC 29577.
last December we swapped my Special tank for the Standard tank he had on his Special. My gas tank got to Jim but I ain't seen his at my place as of yet, his phone don't work and he don't reply to e-mails.
So if anyone in or near Myrtle Beach could swing by Jim's place as ask him what's what (and say that TC would like his carbs back too) I would be grateful.
And Jim, if you are off serving your country,
it can wait but keep in touch eh? Otherwise, send me my tank!

      "How odd...?"

He's the guy on "Temperance" drive... yet you're the one showing all the self-restraint, Fred!
Three months for a tank and I'd be cripplin' people.

Is that the guy who entered his xs in some contest and won? I think maybe he borrowed carbs from TC..? Maybe a different member, but that is what popped in my brain.

Oh, and I wouldn't be near as calm as you sound, Fred.

            Bingo Jessie,

I merged my request for StreetRat to contact US! I checked, but StreetRat hasn't been on the site since around last Oct. or earlier!? I also dropped him an email asking him to check in to the site. He's the closest member to Myrtle Beach that I could see from the registration info from folks that replied to the Members: South Carolina thread!?

Perhaps some Lurker will see this and contact us!

I'm only cool because I had a spare set of carbs that Bruce Gerkin had given to me a few years ago, so I can still get my 79SF basket case up and running when I get off my lazy A$$ and get to working on it again!

I also didn't have any extra $$ into the LOAN, Jim paid for the shipping.

Everyone knows that it's just common courtesy to pay for shipping when you plan to rip someone off.
My faith in man has just dropped another notch below the low setting that I usually keep it at.

Found this in the MSN Yellow pages

Is this the same info you already have? I noticed the address was different... wasn't sure about the phone number.
Surely there aren't 2 Jackhammer Cycles LLC in Myrtle Beach... but then again, I guess one never really knows...

                  Bummer deal on this one...

                    Hi Wildkat,
thanks for looking, perhaps Jim has moved his premises. The phone number from the list is 843-215-5853 while your post says 843-215-5835 but no matter, both numbers are no longer in service.

Worm, your honor, let me HAMMER him today?

                      Well,

That's interesting, a search for Jackhammer Cycles ON Temperance drive on Mapquest brought up the business on the MOSS CREEK addy! Fortunately, they are within 1-2 miles of each other, so that WHEN I get down there possibly next weekend, I'll be able to check out both locations to see if I can find his and our parts whereabouts!?!?

Fred, correction, it's over 300 miles from my place! This will shoot a full Saturday all to hell, but at least I'll get to see Myrtle Beach, but it'll be from a CAGE, just in case I do find him and get our parts back, not enough room on Godzilla to haul it all!

                      Will keep you all posted!
                      T.C.

Sure wish Street Rat was visiting the site, he's only ~100 miles away in Columbia, SC! The other members in Ga. are either way over in the north east, or far south, none near the north east corner!

Photos of the Jackhammer winning XS MOD?

                            Hey folks,

I should have posted this earlier than tonight, but did anybody SAVE any of the photos that Jim Horton, Jackhammer posted about his Modded XS11, showing it with the trophies and such???

I know for some reason his website link still works to bring up his main page, but that's it, but the bike shown is ANOTHER XS11 that he modded, not the one that he won last fall!

IF you did get a copy, could you please email them to me at:
topcatgr (at) cox.net replace the (at) with @ of course, trying to keep the spambots from automatically harvesting it!

I'm leaving 6:00 am tomorrow for the 5+ hour drive down to Myrtle Beach in hopes of finding him in one of the many locations that I and others have found referenced in searches for him!
