I think I just scored a good deal on oil. The local Auto Zone is not carrying Valvoline oils for motorcycles anymore and had it on sale. So... I bought all they had left in 10-40 and 20-50 for $1.99 a quart! Regular price is $3.99 a quart! I think I god lucky, the sale sign wasn't even in the right area...

      Hi Wmarshy,
Sounds like a good deal. I find the 10/40 sqeezes past my old rings so watch oil level when you use it in yours.

        castrol

i have always trusted castrol in my allunimun engines all ways. i use the plain 40 wt castrol. it is sorta old school now but, ive tried other brands and seems like castrol comes out cleaner than other brands at oil changes. that tells me that is less wear and its not breaking down. and that makes me happy. never had any clutch slippage issues with it.

Lol, this is funny. SInce the primary purpose of oil, after lubrication, is to suspend dirt and carbon particles, coming out 'cleaner' looking means it's not working as well as it should.

The dark color od used oil is not from things breaking down, it's from the normal business of combustion.

            diesel oil

will be dark black in minutes after changing due to suspended combustion soot - you never know how its doing without changing it or analysis.
