    Political evils

Well, I am really fed up with both the Dems and the Republicans and I can't bring myself to feel like voting for any of them...the only way I will vote is with an Independant candidate that has a true mandate of the people...tht could be dare i say..Ron Paul or even Lou Dobbs for that matter. If people truly want a change, then now is the time to do it...You know I have some disdain for political discussion on a MC forum... aside from that..People need to get involved and take this country back..so if you stick your head in the sand and hope it will just go away....it wont and it wont get any better...so rather than pick between the lesser of two evils....why not at least have a third option? It would seem to me that the time is right for an Independant Populist Party to emerge and restore this country to the Greatness it once had.

I think it has been years since I've voted for anything, anymore all I do is vote to prevent something. No wonder people over 80 just shake their heads and wonder what happened to the country they fought so had to save.

"I think it has been years since I've voted for anything,"

As a Canadian I can have no input into the US Presidential election except that I live at the south end of the big elephant next door so when it dumps I have to shovel.
Y'know, if you don't vote, you actually do vote. You vote for whichever bribetaking scumbag that gets elected because you never voted agin' him. You also gave up the right to whine about the bastard.
And you dishonor the memories of all those who fought and died over the years just so you could go and vote.

Here is my idea for an IQ test for voters:
Create a ballot that would require the voter to punch a hole in a box opposite the person they want to vote for. If the voter isn't smart enough to do that, and responsable enough to double check the ballot to make sure that the "chad" is pushed all the way through, then that voter is not qualified!

My recently re-built, hopped up '79 Special caught fire and burned everything from the top of the engine up: gas tank, wiring, seat, & melted my windshield all over the front of the bike. Just bought a 1980 Special that has been non oped for 9 years. My Skoot will rise from the ashes and be re named "The Phoenix!"

I didn't say I didn't vote, what I said was, I vote for the person who is most likely to do the least damage to my rights and freedoms, and run the country the way I think it should be run, and by doing that I am voting against the other side, because I'm not fully for the side I voted for. If this is to confusing for you go back to bashing Bush. In my opinion the only mistake he made was he shouldn't have sent troops to do what some well placed missiles could have done, if you evaporate a couple of rouge countries the rest will leave you alone. It's time for the U.S. to quite trying to be the good guy and fight to win like everyone else. There will always be wars and winning them all is the only thing that counts.

                  I agree

A big hole in the ground where there used to be a**holes lets everyone know we mean business. I was in Germany in late '50's and there were lots of holes in the ground where factories used to be.

Sir,IMHO the dishonour has already been perpetrated upon this country and the greatest Generation of Americans of which my parents were a part of.If they were alive to see just what has transpired...they'd shake their heads in disbelief and ofc they would be outspoken abt it.As for not voting ..I have participated in every Presidential election since I was first able to vote in 1976.This is the first time that i have felt that i might not vote. What you say is basically vote to the tune of the lesser of two evils...un-acceptable...the real dishonour is the choice of lousy politicians who could care less abt what our Fathers and Mothers sacrificed in the name of FREEDOM...so pardon me if i do not totaaly agree with your inference.

I'm also in the opinion that our country is just to damn big. There's no way IMO for a country this large to really be run by the people. It is run by large corporations and the media. We'd all be much happier if it was broke up into 4 or 5 segments with complete autonomy from the others. The counrty is already ideologically broken up, why continue to fight over it in Washington. Let's split it up and run each section like that section wants to. Let the chips fall where they may. If you don't like the section you got stuck in move to the one you would.

I beleive there is a certain breaking point when it comes to population where a democracy stops working right.

Ausie Prime Minister John Howard says..

We need a president that thinks like this.....

                          By John Howard:
Muslims who want to live under Islamic Sharia law were told on Wednesday to get out of Australia , as the government targeted radicals in a bid to head off potential terror attacks..
Separately, Howard angered some Australian Muslims on Wednesday by saying he supported spy agencies monitoring the nation's mosques. Quote: 'IMMIGRANTS, NOT AUSTRALIANS, MUST ADAPT. Take It Or Leave It. I am tired of this nation worrying about whether we are offending some individual or their culture. Since the terrorist attacks on Bali , we have experienced a surge in patriotism by the majority of Australians.

This culture has been developed over two centuries of struggles, trials and victories by millions of men and women who have sought freedom'
'We speak mainly ENGLISH, not Spanish, Lebanese, Arabic, Chinese, Japanese, Russian, or any other language. Therefore, if you wish to become part of our society . Learn the language!'
'Most Australians believe in God. This is not some Christian, right wing, political push, but a fact, because Christian men and women, on Christian principles, founded this nation, and this is clearly documented. It is certainly appropriate to display it on the walls of our schools. If God offends you, then I suggest you consider another part of the world as your new home, because God is part of our culture.'
'We will accept your beliefs, and will not question why. All we ask is that you accept ours, and live in harmony and peaceful enjoyment with us.'
'This is OUR COUNTRY, OUR LAND, and OUR LIFESTYLE, and we will allow you every opportunity to enjoy all this. But once you are done complaining, whining, and griping about Our Flag, Our language, Our Christian beliefs, or Our Way of Life, I highly encourage you take advantage of one other great Australian freedom, 'THE RIGHT TO LEAVE'.'
'If you aren't happy here then LEAVE. We didn't force you to come here. You asked to be here. So accept the country YOU accepted.'

Maybe if we circulate this amongst ourselves, American citizens will find the backbone to start speaking and voicing the same truths.

                            Probably

As stoked says we will probably fail as all great societies has and history will repeat just like the Greeks and Romans, only two of the hundreds in historical documents.

Thou shalt not speak the truth!

We had a general election late last year. John Howard not only lost, he lost his own seat. I live in that seat. It's called Benelong. Benelong is 40% Chinese speaking. Our new Prime Minister speaks fluent Chinese. Our new Environment Minister is Peter Garret. You may know him as the singer in Midnight Oil. I kid you not.

Our New Prime Minister is pulling our troops out of Iraq

We have already lost. The loony left is in control. Kiss freedom goodbye.
