now you know
planedick...I am not a fan of Hillary Clinton,,, however the way you hate and despise her is exactly the feeling I have had for the past 8 yrs with George Bush and his henchmen...For all the "bad" things Bill Clinton has done (as were listed as a matter of public record)they all pale in comparison to what George Bush and Dick Cheney have done..to us ...our country..and the rest of the world...I could problably go to the public records and find just as many and more irregeularities and illeagalties with George Bush and Dick Cheney...but there is no need to...cuz I believe 90% of the ppl out there KNOW Clinton was an Angel compared to Bush...ok I dont expect you to agree as i dont particularly agree with your assertions...just stating my feeling in reaction to what you said.1980 XS650G Special-Two

What is more important here are the principles that are being employed in politics today...and for quite some time...The idea that the will of The People is just thrown by the side of the road as politicians and corporate greedies get richer and more powerful everyday.Thats why my job got shipped the COMMUNIST CHINA...it wasn't the greatest paying job but $27k a year was too much to pay an American worker...to do a skilled job...now the person(s)that are doing my job are problably earning $270 per yr!And they couldn't give a F### abt skill or quality...after all we are essentially their enemy and they will keep trying to kill us with their toxic consumer products.BTW our wonderful Gov"t doesnt seem to know or care how to control the situation because they are getting kickbacks from corporate lobbyists...What makes me sick ..just think abt this....How much money are we wasting in Iraq every month? Not sure exactly but it is in the BILLIONS! If our Gov't were to take that amt spent in one month and they gave every man, woman, and child in this country 2 Million dollars they woud not only have money leftover, but they would STILL have more than enough $ to take care of all our other issues and needs as a country.Yeah I must be smokin something cuz thats just a pipedream LOL.....1980 XS650G Special-Two

Don't like 'em either..
Mad max, I am not a fan of G Bush either or any other politician I can think of. I did like John Kennedy, but not the rest of the clan and kinda liked Teflon Ronnie. I want a government that will close the border, leave the rest of the world alone within reason as long as they don't threaten us and stop giving our money to foriegn governments. You can't stay young forever, but you can be immature for the rest of your life...

I usually stay away from political and religious topics since they are the best way to break up a friendship or a marriage (remember that next time you want out of a marriage). But the list of 'candidates' we usually have to pick from is pittiful at best.
Still, dont let any of this bother you because the president, while a very powerful figure, does not run the country as most believe. Instead, the president just governs the nation much like a governor governs a state. He can't make law or even interpret the law, he can only enact law. He can issue an executive order but that goes only so far. He can't force congress to do anything, he can only tell them to get to work. He cant make the Supreme Court do anything, he can only follow their rulings.
So who really runs the country? Congress runs the country!
Usually after a new president is innagurated he has a meeting with the leaders of both houses of congress. This is not a nice little get aquainted tea or anything....it is when the leaders of congress tell the new president face to face how it is going to be!
The scary thing about Hillary is that we have over half of congress made up of elected officials with socialist tendencies just like her! So her face to face meeting is going to be more like a planning session on how to further open our borders, socialize our medicine, penalize our business, weaken our national defense, tax our workers and distribute our wealth.
Now, I have had enough of the Bush'es but frankly, I have had enough of the Clinton's too. Its time for someone else....anyone else!Mike Giroir

Elect me. I'm a socialist conservative. You can't beat that. I'll close the border to illegals, tax the **** out of companies off shoring jobs and run tarrifs high enough to make sure we make our own food and manufactured goods here at home, and finally require every household have at least one assault weapon for defense. I will cut off all the bull**** aid we give to countries that hate us and take all the money we spend in Iraq and use it to build the scariest military the world has ever seen that just sits here at home and waits for someone to jack with us.
Ye, our poor may only be able to have one big screen TV in their household under my administration, and our executives may have to give up a couple of their summer homes due to their lower bonuses not being able to use slave labor overseas. But we will be a stronger country.
No one will hate us for getting in their business, no one will jack with us out of fear of complete annihilation.79 XS11 special

Yeah man, just what I want too. As for the military, no need to go to another country to kick their a**. Those new model airplanes are really cool, and controlled from far far away. I do believe we must have bases close to most everywhere to be effective or we have no place to launch them from. I would vote for you....You can't stay young forever, but you can be immature for the rest of your life...

I avoid these threads like the plague. This one didn't clue me in until I opened it.
I may be alone in my opinion, but I wish these threads weren't here. They seem to never fail to hurt some one.
I won't return here to look for replies. I'll turn on Rush when I'm in the mood for it.
I'll avoid religion on this board as well.Marty (in Mississippi)

No one will hate us for getting in their business
That's just the deal. When we go help, they hate us for being there. If we stayed home, they'd hate us because we didn't go. I'm like you though... if they are going to hate us either way, lets just stay home and save some money! lol.
I know that's not really an option, and who knows what the real answer is. I just keep hoping we don't get someone who thinks one of the answers is to push the little red button, plug their ears, and watch a desert turn into a big glowing glass bowl.

Just for us...
TADracer has it right. The candidates always say what they are gonna do which is usually wishful thinking. In this case though, we have a Democratic majority in congress and we must, at all costs, have a Republican President for any kind of control at all. If we get a Democratic President all kinds of sh** will take place that none of us will like. The Presidential veto is the only real power the President has outsice of military and foriegn affairs. We just gotta keep a Republican President for any kind of control over our own affairs. Just my humble opinion. You can't stay young forever, but you can be immature for the rest of your life...

Perhaps for the election year we can get a new forum just for politics. Then we can have a specific place to go and discuss the issues within the already stated rules of the site.
