Always wanted to but never found the time. When I was a kid, my neighbor was really big into it. He had a B-17 bomber that was baaaadasss. The fuselage would barely fit in his garage. The wings were removable and it had 2 engines built into each one. They looked like chain saw motors. I never got to see it fly, sadly. The details on that thing were amazing.
It even had a bomb bay and controls to drop talcum powder filled bombs.

I have the taste for trucks instead. I currently have an electric and have had a few nitros in the past. I ran across this today and thought it was pretty awesome for a plane. Looks like 2 seperate controllers.
Trucks are lots different than airplanes, but the most important is the up/down part. Trucks go right or left, but not up/down. The controller is 4 channel, 1 for elevator for up/down, 2 is for ailerons for wing attitude (banking), 3 is rudder or right/left and 4 is for throttle. You only need throttle and rudder on the truck.

That maybe true. But the trucks that I have seen have lights, turn signals, horns, engine sounds and rattle and smoke, and can hook, unhook, and lower and raise the legs under the trailer.
Just curious if anyone has seen or found a place that has R/C subs.
You would be surprised at how many features you can add to an airplane that will make them a scale replica of real planes
Just taking a look at this thread...
Now if you were allowed to add maybe something like a .22 caliber semi-auto (or several on one of the larger planes) and go for a real dog fight...I might like to give it a try.
I remember one time some guy brought out some junk trainers that he was going to throw away. People lined up on the sides of the field with paint ball guns. It was interesting to see that. Some of the rounds destroyed the planes and some just plastered them.

RC trucks are more like control line airplanes. You can add lots of extra stuff, but you are still limited to 2 dimensional control. If you want real excitement, let a real pilot try to fly RC. As soon as the model gets in a position where it's comming at him, it's over. I once asked a real pilot about landing. I said, "When you make that final turn and line up on the runway, how long before you put the wheels on the runway"? He said, "Usually around 2 to 4 minutes". I said, "What if it was 5 seconds and to make matters worse, what if at that point you discovered that your rudder and ailerons were suddenly reversed?" He looked at me really funny and finally admitted that at best it would be a real rough landing. LOL

Pilots fly by "the seat of the pants" or so I hear. If they can't feel the g's, its harder to know how much input to give. I tried to get my father to fly but as soon as it turned around he couldn't do it. Also, he overcontrols because the only feedback he gets is visual. Its just like the Airline simulators. They even move, simulating pitch, roll, and acceleraton. RC planes give none of that. Thats kinda why I like flying them. You can do things that you would never do yourself. Flying inverted 6 ft off the ground is one of them.

Yea, like one second being squeezed into the seat and the next flung up aginst the restrants, seeing the horizon spinning around and puking in your face mask
