"Spent a month training with a Royal Australian Infantry regiment."

Yes, that's how these people talk.
    Yes, that's their humor.
At least they have a lot of good beer.
(That might explain why they're celebrating Christmas in November)

Oddly, I'm currently sitting here using an empty Foster's (Special Bitter) can as an ashtray.

      Aussie y'all right?
I know you guys can get a bit confused at times - hanging upside down at the bottom of the world and all - and, I realize that you are a bit ahead in time - zone, that is - but, check the calendar... you're a month too early!!!

That's what happens when I try to watch TV and post a reply at the same time.

                WAAAAARRRRRMMMMM?????????

Wash your typing fingers with metho at once!!!!

Warm beer lives on trucks that deliver it to pubs who only sell it icy cold.

We ONLY drink beer ICY COLD!!!!!

It's in the Constitution. Selling warm beer is a capital offence.
We NEVER EVER UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES drink warm beer.

Warm beer is an abomination in the eyes of god.

Pommies however, drink warm beer. Goodness only knows how they ever got an Empire.

Then things have changed since I was last there...

People, in dinky little towns, sitting on the verandas of hotels, right out of a western, drinking warm Castlemain out of 1litre bottles....
Nice day, if it doesn't rain...

You know why the British drink warm beer don’t you? It’s because they all have Lucas refrigerators.

                            Hi Stralya,
                            that was absolutely disgusting!
                            The sound quality, I mean.
I've turned the sound up full and played the song several times and I still can't make it out so please help:-
                            1) what did they do to granpa to substitute for tinsel?
                            2) What was it that the little sister didn't get for Christmas?
If you fail me in this I will have to rely on my youngest son who is returning home next week after spending two years in Australia. His understanding of Strine will be fresh but his hearing is nackered from listening to Rock & Roll music so you are still my best bet.

OK Fred, to spare any grief offspring wise.

Glad you liked it gang, he's a funny bastard to be sure but most of his stuff is so localised it's only funny to Aussies. He has heaps of stuff on youtube.

                              PS
I've actually met him. I offered to buy him a beer but he wouldn't let me pay. He said, "I make more money than you do mate"
Now that's Fair Dinkum Aussie for ya.
