  • Fat lady done sung.

Closed on the new (brand new) casa Friday. It has been a 5 month ordeal but now it over. Had a walkthru on Wednesday, what disaster! Toilet was sitting in the bathtub, paint job looked like my 6 year old grandson did it, Jet tub did not work, major chunks in the kitchen floor and enough overspray on the kitchen cabinents to make Earl Schieb jealous. Returned on Friday to find everything fixed to my satisfaction. And cause of the hassles on the first walkthru and maybe the fact I didn't blow up on them, the builder is going to add 40ft of fence on the side yard for free so I can park my boat there, at no cost. So, off I go to Lowes (window stuff), Sears (garage door opener for the man cave) and who where else. Gonna texture and paint the new garage this week before movin my stuff in there. Lotsa stuff to hang inside, many virgin walls awaiting penetration.

Home ownership was a step up for me and a step down... for the neighborhood.
May your experience be the same.

Rodger that fur sure!! My cruises around the neighborhood haven't netted anyone else who rides yet, but they may be fair weather riders and only come out when it cooler. Can't wait to butt heads with the HOA. Whats really cool is there is a straight stretch of road about a mile long right outa my driveway and around the corner, great spot to do a "jetting inspection".

                  Hi Webb,
about that, my buddy Marv Cooper has a 1935 Francis-Barnett Cruiser mounted on a 10' high pole in front of his garage.
Most of his neighbors revile him for having a rusty old motorcycle on a stick outside his house. The rest, (not knowing that it's totally unrestorable) revile him for having a priceless antique motorcycle rusting away on a stick outside his house.

MAN CAVE UPS AND RUNNING!!! After having my beloved XS sit in the the driveway for three days, I was up at 4:30 on saturday and commenced the attack on the man cave. Happy to report, XS has its exhaulted position once more. Workbench up and running, fridge now empty of malt beverages, posters of scantily clad, adult beverage holding young lasses now displayed. Cable TV workin but as of today only had a 10" TV in place (gotta love watchin Horsepower TV in the garage). As always, not enough light yet but that is next weeks project.

Actually ran outa beer about the same time I got finished, good timing. Finding out my placement of extra outlets was not to good. I have plenty of outlets but everyplace I had the installed is getting covered up with shelves, workbenches and pallet racks. Shoulda had them put higher on the wall. No biggie, hollow walls and good access thru the ceiling crawlspace and I can move em.

That would be me. But I have found that 98% of my wall space is now covered up so the paneling would be wasted and it was kinda expensive. Been eyeing the inside of the garage door however as a target for some paneling.

                              That's an interesting idea.

Can't really hang tools there... but a good place for posters and such.
Maybe hang pictures of other member's garages... as a reminder to not let your's become similarly cluttered.
