Hi Prom I am trying to work up to guru status but I type so slow it will take a lifetime I spent some time up in your neck of the woods in 1968 with a view of Mt Olymlpus out the back door. Ft Lewis and surounding area is buitful. I would like to ride out there again with some time to ride around.

Prom, I’ve been at this for 2 years and only 300+ posts. Guess that makes me more of a taker than a giver but then again who wants advice from a XS moron. Mine and the 2 other 80s Yamahas I've rebuilt run great through

No man has a natural right to commit aggression on the equal rights of another; and this is all from which the laws ought to restrain him.”
A government big enough to give you everything you want, is strong enough to take everything you have.
Mason and XSChop were both sitting at 999 posts, and then suddenly went silent.
Yes, the universal fear of responsibility, I suppose.
Or is it... wishing to remain on the side lines... anonymous... a Shrinking Violet... staying out of the public view for fear of ridicule?
The main attribute of a Guru, other than he may/or may not know a few things, is his ability to constantly run his mouth as if he does.
I have perfected this to an artform.

Chop is truly a guru in his own class. The guy never stops trying new stuff. But I understand he does have a business to run and is limited to the amount of time he can spend here.
Unlike me...Chop is actually working on his Eleven's instead of just talking about working on them.
this is my first forum that i spent alot of time in, i don't know how other places operate, if there is status to the nice round number of a thou.
no i don't innovate here, i just imitate, i like these bikes, and the conversation here, and i have learned quite a bit, i could scan the posts and lend my 2 cents, when appropriate when i'm confident as to veracity ( triggering debate) or lack therof (triggering yet again debate) of any statements that i may make, it may be a contribution of sorts.
this is not life nor death, or maybe; some info here can keep one from the reaper, outside of that, this is fun and a past time not a time for passing, live and let live, until death do we part from 2 wheels.

I am smart enough to chose my opponents wisely.

Guru Prometheus I know you're there
show me the way
watch over my XS
be with me when I tune the carbs
take away my fears and worries of second gear
Please keep the fire lit to help me find my way home
keep me from over torquing the cam chain tensioner
temper your fire so I have not pre-ignition
help me avoid the skunk in the road
I feel your presence all around
and I want to thank you for showing me
that although I was lost, now I'm Xsive

BTW,
please check the oil and clean the windshield too
Truth be told... One only learns by being exposed to differing opinions.
Intellegence isn't so much what one knows, but how wisely one uses the information.
I only tolerate MRO as he once had knowlege on a subject of which I was lacking. Aside from that, I have no use for him. (other than a source of amusement and target for ridicule)

oh...I'm hurt
And after I posted such "guru praise"
as he once had knowlege
Only once?
In my business have meet/socialized with people from every strata of our society. From janitors to CEO's, scientists at Berkley and SRI labs to general contractors, a politician here and there and their flunkies. (even a few MC techs) Would be a much better world if intelligence and common sense were more prevalent than the multitude of cunning SOB's out there. Most amazing to me is when you point out a fatal flaw in there reasoning and you get that blank empty look in return....begin to wonder how they got where they are. Of course there are XSeptions, Prom for XSample
mro
BTW, it's raining right now
Sorta feels like Organ/Washington
Oh, so now I'm a Mc-tech, am I?
Just 'cause the company went out of business and I'm out of my "Mc-job"?
"I'd like an oil change and a rear tire mounted."
"You want fries with that?"
McTech... I've been called worse.
And yes, women still call me "The Organ from Washington."
How can I have flaws in my reasoning, when most of what I write has no reasoning behind it?
Flaws... indeed!
