  • XS1100 30th Anniversery rally

The attendees of the 2007 PNW XS/XJ rally decided to hold a 30th Anniversary calibration August 15-20 2008, in Idaho.

    Location to be decided.

I am announcing this, but not necessarily hosting it. If anybody in Idaho wants to run with this, go for it. Otherwise, we will set this rally up by committee.

For more details, watch the thread under "Northwest (and Western Canada)".

I think I would be up for that. The ride, not the hosting that is.

That was one of the goals for Meeting of the Minds 2008

but we were planning June... We just can't make the distance for Idaho... that whole "kid" thing... oh yes... and John's back... kind of throws a kink into things...

How about planning a national route that anyone can join on when it comes through their neck o' the woods? Our place in June... run it through the southeasern states.... up along the east coast... across the north to Idaho in August and then on down the west coast? There might even be a bike or two that would do the whole thing (that would be SO cool)...

Just a thought... not trying to douse anyone's ideas... just trying to include those of us who won't be able to make a long distance ride...

THat'd be knarly. I'd join up on an east coast run from south to north over a weekend. New job starts Monday and I can't miss a minute of time or they'll can me sure as I'm sittin here. But if I could meet up with the crew from this coast and cruise for a day or so, I'd never forget it.

Wow, how cool would that be? The logistics are daunting but still... If we could only get Yamaha involved in it and maybe one of the rags like Rider it could get done. In the Olympic spirit we could pass a second gear or broken coil wire from coast to coast!

I'm up for a ride to Idaho. Any KOA's in the area planned for? That way anyone coming could do there own booking and lighten the load of organising.
Would just need a list of those committed to come, to work from so far as delegating different responsibilities. Definitely do-able. Who's coming?
Any XS'ers in N Idaho? We could use a PU to haul beer etc.

Well, I volunteer to do any web page work that might be needed or advisable. Northern Idaho is better than southern, having just crossed through Boise twice in the last 10 days, I know of what I speak!

There is a KOA in Coeur d"Alene; I have sent them an e-mail asking about group reservations for the 1st or 2nd week in August. Will post their reply when I get it. Web address is: http://www.koa.com/where/id/12106/

This KOA also has a pool and cabins to rent if you are not into tenting, also has RV parking for those of you with a motorhome. I ams sure there are hotels/ motels in the area as well.

For those not familiar with the area, the town is situated on a large lake. I will look into possible rides routes.

Someone else want to look into food / catering / other amenities? Would be nice to have either a few breakfasts or dinners at whatever site we pick. Rockjock did this in Bozeman and I though it worked very well, DennyZ also had this in Olympia and it added a lot to the gathering.

Not trying to make a decision here, just examinng possibilities.

I would be very interested as well - given enough notice to get a leave pass past 'her indoors'.
Hey Crazcnuk, I'm going to be coming up your way sometime soon - not on my XS though, in a big work truck lol

A 30th anniversary gathering in Coeur d'Alene would be a 'positively will attend' for SWMBO and I. Heck, that's do-able as a day drive from Revelstoke.
