I am clean shaven about twice a year when I mess up trimming my beard. The rest of the time I have a full beard. I work outside in the elements. Warm in the winter, and a mini air conditioner in the summer.
If I knew I was going to live this long, I would have taken better care of myself..

          Dan,
My apologies for having mis-spelled your screen name. I'm driving back from a weekend out of town thinking to myself that a guy from Oz would probably prefer to be thought of as Stralya rather than Strayla, right? Mea culpa. I did yank out a couple of beard hairs as an offering to the god of motorcycles and facial hair in repentence! I retire in 20 months and have a 3 month crossc country and international oddessy planned. I have thought about the possibility of letting the beard grow during the entire trip, will let you know what I decide.

            Don't harm a single hair!

Those gods wouldn't appreciate it anyway. Most folk misspell my nic but that's my fault really, why I didn't go for something simple like 'Scrotum Scratcher' or Chrome Cushion'?

In the year or so before the Sydney Olympic Games, there was a TV Parody about the Organising Committee called 'The Games'

In one scene, the Head of the Committee was interviewed at home on the weekend. The scene opened with him opening his front door wearing his green and gold Australian track suit.

On turning around, emblazoned across the back where you'd expect to see the word 'AUSTRALIA' in that sort of curved way was instead the word 'STRALYA' which, when we speak quickly, is how we pronounce Australia.

I thought that was brilliant and it's been my nic ever since.

So don't worry too much about misspelling it, most Aussies who see it don't get it either until I explain it.

Enjoy that trip, pity there's no highway between here and there, I'd have enjoyed having a beer or 30 with you.

Don't forget to take loads of pics.

            Dan
            Carn Stralya!

                Wildcat,
Whathehell are you doin' in this thread anyway?
I got mutton chops. Sorta like a reverse goatee. Think of a full beard minus the chin whiskers.

My recently re-built, hopped up '79 Special caught fire and burned everything from the top of the engine up: gas tank, wiring, seat, & melted my windshield all over the front of the bike. Just considder yourselves lucky that you don't have to shave your head down to a 1 every week. Don't tell anyone but I have been getting by with a 3. Shh..... Quick update.

I just bought a new digital camera. This is my first test pic.

As soon as the water restrictions are lifted I'll wash the Swiftcicle and post some pics of him.
