Don't know about Georgefix's kits, but everything I've bought from him has been A-OK!
Just a caution about petcock kits.
SOME of them (partsnmore) come with diaphrams that have a short plunger. Sort by a couple of mm. Hard to tell by eye, I found the difference with my caliper. Compare the new plunger to your old one before installing the new one. This may save you hours of confusion when your petcocks with all new parts, STILL "LEAK". They can't shut off 'cause of the short plunger.
The diaphram is usually OK, but the plunger O-ring wears out. I wound up with new short plungers in the kits, had to re-use my old ones and transferred the new O-ring to the old diaphram. No leaks.
I've gotta chime in as an old South Jersey boy. Spent the first 15 years of my life in Camden County. Watched them build the Cherry Hill Mall on a farm my dad used to work on in the '30's. We moved a little west in '63 and I still think of PGH as home, even after 23 years in VA.
Anyone who takes your money and then won't ship your parts should either be whipped with a cam chain or stoned with fouled spark plugs, or both if it can be proven that it was a pattern. I still think that a few of the local XS'ives should pay a visit on this type of scum just as if the guy had taken out their younger sister and acted in an inappropriate fashion . Are you guys with me, or are you waiting to get burned personally before you weigh in on this issue?

Hi Grandpop,
a half-century ago I read this story from a reputable Velocette parts dealer.
It starts with a series of perhaps a dozen letters, they all say, I sent you the cash, where's my parts? The first letter is quite polite, the letters become harsher in tone, the last one is downright rude.
The story ends with this note from the dealer:- "The customer's parts have been packed for shipping since two days after we got the order. If ANY of his correspondence had a return address we would send the parts right away."

I sent the PM on the 30th. I checked the 'tracking"... he hasn't opened/read it yet.
Some people have the options set so that when they get PMs, they also get a notice in their regular E-mail.
Maybe he does, maybe he doesn't.
So...
Had he opened the Pm and not responded, that would be one thing.
But, the record shows that he hasn't yet, so actually, what am I to think?
I had asked for an explaination...
I really hate to tarnish reputations...
But, to give me more insight before I slander,
Hey Grandpop... what kind of reasons did he give for not fulfilling the contract?

I am looking for a couple rebuild kits or new/used fuel petcocks. My 78 XS1100 has been sitting for 15 years and I just got a set of carbs for it. Not from Randy in CA either. Actually my son found them and got them for me as a birthday gift. Best gift I ever got.
<Gift Giver. Hey Curtis. I got you on the petcock rebuild kits. I'm pretty stoked about helping you with the XS. I say complete restoration down to the frame.
Originally posted by rman I grew up in south NJ, Gloucester county. Ah, I miss the oil refineries, esp the odors that used to blow in from the Eagle point plant when the wind was just right. Then I purchased my first home in Paulsboro, right near the Mobil refinery, I thought I was moving up.
I hope you have a better view then I did growing up there.
Spent a long, long time driving tractor-trailer through the Water Gap to NYC. Then reloading in Perth Amboy and coming home. A lot of the time, dispatch would catch me at Perth Amboy and have me load the pneumatic tanker for delivery at a local refinery. Usually it was the Hess refinery 4 miles up the road. I've been all over that wonderful state, and to be blunt and honest, I don't miss it a bit now that I'm not driving. The odor of Northern NJ is always foul, and southern NJ is becoming increasingly filthy with the encroachment of petroleum refineries and factories.
BUT...to be fair, I ALWAYS enjoyed the drive along the river from Washington Township to the Gap. I'd love to take that ride on the bike someday. If I ever get that far, I'll let you know.
My family is all from the NEPA area...Hallstead/Great Bend/Susquehanna...I go there often enough, I'm sure I could stretch a trip out for another day before the snow flies...

Some people have one of those days, I have one of those lives...
I know where you are talking about. I use to deal with a body shop near Eagle Point refinery. Right next to it in fact. I am so glad that it north. Way north. Like in Yankee territory. I am actually below the Mason Dixon line. It ran through Pole Tavern ( route 40 and 77 circle). I am about 45 minutes south of the refinery.
Had to laugh when you said oder though. I work for an oil company and smell like it all day.
