    Closer view of the situation:

He was obviously sitting there a while till the rescue crew got him out!

Then again, while you're sitting in there waiting for someone to come get you, maybe you're thinking to yourself this really isn't so bad after all, compared to what it could be like if the frame did more than just bend.

Besides, things could have been worse. At least he was able to hang around and enjoy the view .
Kept his relatives and friends happy too... saved them from having to explain that, "it wasn't the fall that did him in ... it was the sudden stop"

Maybe its an optical illusion but do they have that chain wrapped around the rear window?

Do you want it done right or do you want me to do it?

Sure looks like it. I would not bet my life on a set of alumimnum tracks. However, in defense of the rescuers, their options are limited.

Having the benefit of retrospect, as a first responder I would have opted for the harness and rope passed to the driver and taken him out via the window. It would have been a little hairy I am sure but without risk of a sudden frame failure of an already severely damaged frame....

At this point, nothing is wrapped. Looking closely, you can see they have punched a hole through the window on each side and inserted a steel hook. These are the hooks they use with the recovery trailer to pull a dead vehicle up onto the platform.
